Maxx

Just had the urge to drop in and see who is still around from the old days.

Been a long time between drinks guys, I am now living on site in the Pilbara (Bout 3-400 kms from the coast in the Pilbara, Western Australia. Iron Ore minesite on the Yandicoogina lease.
Materials Controller for a Major expansion project for RioTinto.

Bit of a change of pace from IGA I'd say. Working 23 days on 5 days off, 12 hours a day 7 days a week. So less hours than IGA.  ;)

So yeah.... fill me in on whats been happening. I see they let Tortuga breed. Nice work champion.

Don't act as if you didn't have a hand in tha...

Oh crap!  Isn't this a private message?!

Glitch Girl

Hey Maxx.

What's been happening?  Well, for me not much: approaching the one year anniversary of buying a house, so that's kinda cool.  Had some rough spots here at FR with hacking but we seem okay so far.

Sword

That's strange. I could have sworn it got a little bit more oldschool in here
*sees Maxx*
How's it going? Can I get you something, like a pineapple?

captainspud

Damnit! Now we have to move again!

Maxx

You can run Spudly, but you can't hide.

Good to see a lot of the old names still floating around.

Haven't played a pc or console for around 10 months now. Starting to loose touch and the plot by living out here so much. Any game recommendations for my 4.5 day return to semi reality in Perth.

Isn't that the truth.  Everytime we move FR, Spud keeps finding us.  ;)

Glad you could drop in for a visit!

Protomorph

Hey, Maxx! What's shakin', dude?

The Pwime

How are ya, Maxx?  ^_^

*tries oh so hard to fit in with the veterans*

*fails miserably*  :P

For the benefit of the newer members, Max worked for Irrational Games on the first Freedom Force game. We once knew him as IrrationalMaxx, back in the days of MyFreedomForce.com.

Maxx

Still irrational, no longer working there, actually making real cash money now.
Was very good times though, using the pub down the road for our QA team "meetings". Had the BBQ on the balcony at work, wore shorts and a t-shirt to work for 12 months even in sub zero c temperatures because I could, gave being an alcoholic a go for a while. It's bloody expensive you know.
Still in contact with a couple of old workmates, always chat, don't get much visit time now though. The mining industry isn't that much different to the games industry, except in the mining industry Occupational Health and Safety is paramount. The games industry doesn't really care about fair pay, reasonable working hours or sanity.

All that said, if I find myself in the position where I'm secure, I'd go back in a flash. You get to meet really great people like you guys.... well, only really met gdaybloke in person on his whirlwind tour of Canberra.

Gotta go and empty some offices, a lot of contractors are demobing and guess whos responsible for the asset register...

Zapow

Heya Maxx! Good to see you!

Well ya were working for a company named Irrational. Glad to hear things have been going good for ya Maxx. Does this mean you're no longer sporting the mohawk?

Oh and Tort's not the only one breeding.  :D

MJB

Wow I didn't expect to see you post here Maxx.

I'm really glad to hear from you and I'm super happy to hear that you are doing well.

The Phantom Eyebrow

Well hey there MAxx!  I have to confess I don't remember you but if you had any hand at all in the making or distribution of the Freedom Force game then you're okay in my book.

(Thumbs aloft!)

B A D

Glad to see you made Parole!

DMenacer

Glad to see that you made it back but I'll still remember you as Irrational Maxx. If you like to play online, go get City of Heroes Edition and City of Villains Edition or the combinded Good vs Evil Edition and come join us. I'm sure a spot can be found for you and your toons (character created heroes and villains) on any of our supergroups.

The Hitman

Well, I don't quite know you, Maxx, but I'm glad to hear everything's going great.

Bujin

Howdy, Maxx!!

Maxx

Sounds all good. Can't believe its been what...... 4 years now!
Time moves really fast out here too. One shift is a month over. Luckily my partner also works out here, helps a lot. 90% of the people you meet in Western Aus are divorced, seperated or something similar due to working away. The mining industry is a huge part of this side of the country. Looking at getting hitched... I know...
Gotta drive into Newman this morning, waiting for the sun to rise, too much wildlife and too shitty roads.
Will catch up soon. I get to go home on Friday night. Home?!?

It's so good to hear from you all, To all those who didn't know me, I was a fair dinkum, you beut, dinky die, true blue, tried and tested bloody legend before Freedom Force!

Oh yeah, no mowhawk now, but at Newyears I decided to grow a mustache. Not just a mustache, but an almost porn star one. From the side burns, down to the jaw line across to the chin then up and over handlebar style. It seems to mesmerise a lot of people. One girl out here said it was like a train wreck, she knows she shouldn't stare, but she can't look away.  :D

Cardmaster

My god, it's that Maxx guy! Y'know, the guy that, was all, like, official!
Welcome back!
