Speaking of Comics Interview characters, how about the Southern Knights? I don't think they've ever been done. They are Electrode, Dragon (a dragon who posed as a man), Connie (with her psychic sword) and Kristin (a sort of cheerleader Supergirl).

Holy cow!   Does that ever take me back!  The Southern Knights!  I collected them as well.  Here's a link:  http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/s/sothnite.htm

They were always a lot of fun!  Connie and Dragon especially were very unitque characters imho.  Connie was an olympic level fencer as I recall whose psychic sword do any physical harm to an opponent but would just pass through them/incapacitate them with a great deal of pain.  *heh-heh*  Dragon was an actual dragon who (being a dragon) was very long lived and could shapechange into a human form.  I always liked Kristin as well in that she was a spunky-sprite girl who was also superstrong.  As I recall she would always wear a Clemson t-shirt would get enraged if it were damaged in combat.  Great stuff!

Sure, it wouldn't suck to see them in  :ffvstr:...

Hey, they just made me think; I've done Victor from Hero Alliance. Maybe HA and Power Factor are obscure enough.

... there was a guy who would look pretty good on Male Alpha... And there is a supervillain who would look good on a Mephisto mesh... need the right helmet for Guardsman and Apostate... Sentry...

... now this and I've got a bunch of 2D art to do.

The Civil Defense Corps

Why not the whole Top Ten  ^_^ (*dream*)

Green Hornet

more obscure heroes: Atoman, Black Fury, Kano  :rickbm

daglob

Copper Age did a fine version of Atoman.

I do have a version of him for Superman REN, but I'm not sure it's all amy art. I'll have to look up the psd file on it.

danhagen

The gone-but-not-forgotten Copper Age also did an Atoman, and I believe it's in one of the two Yahoo groups which preserve his fine work. Dagolb has taken up the fallen mantle of Copper Age's obscure hero work.

Green Hornet

More obscure team:  The Protectors  :rickbm

daglob

The original versions of some of those have been done. Copper Age did Airman, The Arrow, and several versions of Amazing Man (check out the Copper Wire Yahoo Groups). I'm almost certain I've seen Man of War someplace.

herodad1

the protectors was a good series.collected all 24 but could never find 25.

lmalonsof

That Gravestone is very similar to Tombstone

Green Hornet

more obscure heroes: Batman-superman of Planet X, The Defender, Wonderman, Tigerman  :rickbm

danhagen

The Protectors had the most downbeat ending of any super hero series ever. Completely out of step with the point of the genre, but it must represent a kind of landmark. Made the Watchmen look like Casper the Friendly Ghost.

CrashmanX

WOW earth-X DC too man DC and Marvel share far too many Ideas and those are some ODD heros but nice finds

Batman-Superman is at Character Obscura; just look for Super-Batman. I have reference for both Wonderman (who I think turned out to be a villain) and Tigerman, as well s Atlas' comics Tigerman. Defender is new, though. I like him... but is HE Lex Luthor?

There are just too many obscure characters, and not enough hours in the day...

Green Hornet

The Defender is Lex Luthor on the planet Lexor where he became a hero.   :rickbm

Obscure heroes from the silver age: Supermaid, Nightwing & Flamebird, Futureman, and Superman's new uniform   :rickbm

Thanks for the Masterman JKC.  Now more obscure heroes of the silver age
The Squid, Quakemaster, Radar Sonar man :rickbm

I've got a request: Zippo (no, not one of the Marx Brothers). This guy uses what has to be one of the weirdest-looking pieces of crimefighting equipment ever seen. You can find a story about him here:

http://home.comcast.net/~wanolan/20one1.html

I can't scope worth a darn, or I'd try it. If someone will supply a mesh, I'll skin it. Most of it except for the exo-skeleton would be standard stuff on a Tom versatile mesh.

Green Hornet

More of those obscure heroes: Mr Echo, The Mole, Hypnoman   :rickbm

Obscure quiz: Who is this obscure hero?  What obscure group did he belong to?  What is the group known for?   :rickbm

From the Mike Sekowsky art and pose, my guess is that he's one of the Golden Age heroes who sired the Inferior Five.

From the Mike Sekowsky art and pose, my guess is that he's one of the Golden Age heroes who sired the Inferior Five.

Specifically, he is Mr. Might, the Superman analog member of the Freedom Brigade, father of Awkwardman. And I think the artist is Joe Orlando, but it could well be Sekowsky as well.

daglob

Sekowski inked it. Maybe more than inked, perhaps doing finishes over Orlando's layouts. I'm not sure how widespread that procedure was then, but, then again, Sekowski's stype is so overwhelming that he would probably drown anyone but another artist with as powerful a style, like maybe Neal Adams, Gil Kane, or Jack Kirby. I always thought Sekowski did all the art, but some time or another I saw reference to his just inking Showcase 62. I double checked Don Markstein's Toonapedia (surely everyone here knows it's at http://www.toonopedia.com/), and got the issue number as well.

Looking at him, Mr. Might actually looks like a cross between Superman and Captain Marvel...

Green Hornet

Right Mr. Might of the Freedom Brigade, parents of the Inferior 5   :rickbm
