I had that idea in mind for a long time.
Editing standard mesh bulk so it would look like Warner's 'The animated serie' saga.(Batman,JLU,...)
Of course, the purpose is that the model match community's skins

It took just an hour to edit that mesh.
I could do this on other basic mesh (like female)

I'm just wondering if there's a public for that stuff ^^;
There's tons of skins based on 'male basic' textures coordinates.

(Rushing on Libery bay's stuff)

Carravaggio

thats cool! i know some people have made timm-verse style skins, this owuld be a perfect accompanyment. and because of the simplicity of JLU designs, only a few modifications to male and female basic would be necessary to fit a range of characters.

Volsung

Timmverse! Thanks that's the term!
Ok, i'll try the basic female in some hours.

cvc

Very nice, thank's Volsung also so thank's for the ff Guyver. Can't wait to put Timmverse style char's to work...or...death... :)

bearded

how many are you willing to do?  a timmverse mod would be most excellent.

Volsung

Glad to see some interest!
How many?
Which model do you suggest except male with cape ,belt, gloves or collar and female with basic and longhair?
An heavy one with mongul or grundy bulk?

bearded

that actually sounds like a good start.  most all characters would fit in those.  i guess the next thing would be to assemble timmverse style skins.

style

If you do one with Grundy bulk, that mesh can be applied to many other characters (ie: Kingpin) so im all for it!

deanjo2000

Looking through my vast collection there is Batman, flash, martian manhunter and superman in this style.I cant remember where i got them and the body on them dont match up to yours but the faces are spot on.

The Pwime

yeah, Volsung, has anyone ever mentioned just HOW MUCH you rock?

Volsung

I tried the female basic.

That's less obvious
I've seen two types of textures coordonates Female_basic and Female_versatile on most fan made skins.
My problem is the hairstyle.Which one are the most used?

Thanks Pwime that's a huge praise for a little effort and merit^^

Well,deanjo2000,my goal is to propose skinners an alternative to the basic meshes.
Anonymous meshes close to Timmverse style so new and old skins could match them

Volsung

True, ips.Logos will need editing.
I did this without real convictions. It was easy and quick enough so it wouldn' affect my liberty bay work a lot.
Without timmverse style textures or a precise timmverse character that's won't be conclusive.

Here's a Mongul/Grumly  test

The Pwime

haha, man that's sweet.

the female basic looks really good, and the Grundy/Mongul base looks pretty awesome too.  I could even see the latter being used for non Timmverse style skins.

Carravaggio

true, even if these all get used for timmverse stuff, any size and body modificatons will be a huge help to the community at learge. that mongul sized mesh looks fantastic, and if its as simple as you say, you might have found a market for this kinda stuff. i'd use that in regular skinning. we need all the different body sizes we can get for variety.
without putting words in Volsungs mouth or work on his schedule can anybody think of other generic shapes?
what about male_bulky, not as topheavy as mongul above, more solid with a wider midsection, like kingpin?
or male_lean, like flash/speedster?
or some titans style teenager meshes?
as for the female i think female_basic probably gets used the most, as opposed to female_loghair, but i could be wrong.
Are these meshes gonna be open to 'skoping when/if released? that'd make the range of skinnable characetrs limitless.
a male cape style mesh could very easily become dr fate. etc.
there is a lot of potental here, Volsung, i hope something comes of all this :)

Based on my (admittedly limited) experience with the DCU animated style you're going for, I would suspect going with the female_basic, female_basic_cape, and female_longhair based meshes would cover most DCU characters.

Incredible work Volsung.

There's high risk of stretched details but the result is worth the trouble.
Carravaggio your evidence is really persuading.
That whim can became a benefit to the community
I'll stick to Timmverse artworks and produce a set of different body size.
I'll put some effort in variety of hairstyle (especially female)
In fact the only thing which scares me is the rigging of all those meshes (assigning vertices to skeleton)
It has to be clean.
I'll have to export some FF and FFVTTR files.Actually I can't avoid that  FFVTTR bug

'skoping when/if released?'
I never used nifskope i don't know what would be really usefull for nifskoppers.
You mean by that including some mesh parts hideable?removable?

Carravaggio

i really just meant will you give permission for us to 'skope them. i know that with 15 mins work i can make a dr fate out of a male basic cape (thanks to Tommyboy and all his versatile bits)...okay maybe more like 30 mins, but its all possible!
i presume you would, i just thought i'd ask anyways. you wouldn't have to include any bits really, excwpt maybe a different hairstyle, like you said, but i know that i'd just nab some of INK's female hair, cos he has given the go ahead for his stuff to be skoped. with nifskope we can copy any part from any mesh and place it into any other mesh.
and i can live with stretched logos etc. its a skinners job to work around those obstacles.

Volsung

Ok i get it ^^

Just a question.
Does a Timmverse JLU art book exists?!Or a good website with a view of the whole characters?

edit: Well i just discovered the website 'World's Finest' .Perfect^^

Here's a Mongul/Grumly  test

Wow I don't know why but I've fallen passionately in love with this one, also if the head was made a little bigger, it could make a great Hulk mesh. Awsome job Volsung, keep it up.

Volsung

Who could expect the enthusiasm that's this incongruous test would generate^^
Here's a first list.

male with/without cape:
standard (Flash)
slim (The Shade/Copperhead)
muscular (superman)
hulking (mongul)
I don't know which hairstyle would be necessary (or even some beards)

female with/without cape:
long straight hair (wonderwoman)
long wavy hair  (Black Canary)
short hair (vixen)
There's timmverse female characters with bobbed hair?

Carravaggio

not that i can think of, wonderwomans hair style pretty much covers most've the gals (star sapphire, supergirl etc.)
Thats a pretty good list, Volsung, as for male hairstyles and beards...well unless yo're prepared to model your own hair styles (which'd be cool) you might wanna just leave it to nifskope. that would reduce the mesh size, and many people can skope bits and pieces from others.
if you really wanna do hair, which i'd love to see, i'd go with:

superman
slicked back (bruce wayne stule)
flattop (john stewart)
long (aquaman)
hair with bangs (kyle rayner)
a simple parted hair style (every other guy in the timmverse)

this is starting to get really cool...

Blkcasanova247

This is really great! Timmverse meshes.....great name. Hey wasn't somebody meshing or skinning "Timmverse" styled characters a little while back? I could have sworn I saw a Batman TAS before. Sorry to threadjack.

AfghanAnt

I love the Mongul mesh and fantastic work on the others, especially the female one.

Volsung

Carravaggio
hair with bangs?
Like this?

Don't you think that bald type is enough for john stewart and bruce wayne?

Blkcasanova247
You're right.
I even remember that I asked where I could find those, long ago.
They were accurate enough?

AfghanAnt
Just wait^^I urged a little on those.
(Look at the groin and thight of mongul type, you'll see that legs overlap)
I'll release something clean.
(After libertybay's hawk texture)

The Hitman

Man, these are GREAT! Any chance there's going to be a male_suit version, for folks like Lex Luthor, etc.?

Volsung

Why not!
I could stretch the male civilian and replace the head.
I add this male_suit  on my list.

question:Can nifskoppers apply reflection/glow shaders on nif files?

AfghanAnt

I look forward to it. That Mongul mesh is perfect for a character I have in mind.

hmm...i guess you're right, no point making more work for you if its unnecessary...altho a flattop would be nice simply cos i dont think there is one around

Yes and yes!

Zivon23

Have you tried modifying the Mega Male Basic?

Found here:http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/3DMastermeshes2/files/

It might make for a better Timm...Just a thought.
