I couldn't resist to try the male suit

That great luthor texture helps a lot (I don't know who did it, I found it un Crisis mod)
But that subject is too much specific.I edited the face so it would be closer to luthor.Which means a bruce wayne skin could look weird on that model.

quiet

that would be C6's work on the suit mesh, which I believe he modeled after the timmerverse luthor.  The way you edited that mesh, it looks exactly like the animated version. exactly.  that's crazy.

Volsung

Zivon23:
Mega Male basic? what does it look like?
By the way,I think I prefer to work on irrationnal meshes instead of editing an edited mesh? no?

Quiet:
Thanks!I did not worked on c6 mesh^^I chopped the male basic head and welded it on civilian's mesh.
I've got to crush my fingers with my mouse each time that i'm tempted to work on timmverse style textures.
If only I could live comfortably as a part-time worker!

quiet

Im sorry I was not clear, I believe the mesh is male_suit v2 with the lex luthor skin by C6.  sorry about the confusion.

the_ultimate_evil

volsung these look amazing, definatly a interesting idea

hmm i didnt think gren released the max of his male_suit v2.

if anyone else thinking two face

The Hitman

Dang, the male_suit version turned out GREAT!

Protomorph

This is a great idea, whose time is come!

they look great, Volsung!

Volsung

Guys...
After finishing some liberty bay stuff i was about to left freedom force in retreat, and work on something else.(no link with that kind of game).
But now i'm in a dilemma.

Now I'm thinking about seriously investing in a Timmverse project.
Going beyond simple mesh editing for anonymous characters and making concrete close characters.
Including textures,no animations, but maybe talking heads too...

That's ironical for a guy who was talking about a FF map meant to giant robots and who throw quickly that project away.
But in this project I d'ont need to learn new software. And above all, I could release those models on MUA too!
Marvel ultimate alliance which i prefered not to involve more in.

I think that i'm going to make one precise character first, so I could estimate the effort and time necessary.

Volsung

Another test on Brainiac with Courtnall6's skin.(This time I was clever enough to check crisis readme file)

Some areas are really stretched.
The arms are self made (with fingers barrely noticeable)
I rushed to the end

Carravaggio

GAH! still looks fantastic, mate! C6's stuff lends itself to this kind of venture.
with that tall head and eeeeevil eyes, it looks spot on like the one from the show.
this is very exciting stuff...

i'd love to play as timmverse supes in MUA. the fact that the models could have two uses, FF AND MUA, well, why the heck not? it make sthem twice as useful and therefore, twice as worth doing.

AfghanAnt

That's the best Brainiac I've seen. (It may be the only but whatever). I really like the way these are coming out.  Great job in spite of the stretching.

The Pwime

Oh man, these get more and more awesome with each new one you make.

Great work on Luthor and Brainiac.  :D

style

Hey Volsung If you make a Two Face mesh I'm pretty sure I can convince 'ole C6 to skin him.

Revenant

Volsung, I love these!! That Brainiac made me jump out of my seat!

I can't wait for these... It's great to have more variety in body types; we've been using basic ones for a long time.

There's timmverse female characters with bobbed hair?

Maybe Raven from the Teen Titans if she crossed-over.
Gypsy, as well: http://dcanimated.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Gypsy.jpg
I remember Ace and Ten from the Royal Flush Gang.
This makes it possible to hex together nearly any character we've seen in Timmverse.

edit: I left a clue as to my request in the above two sentences  ^_^

the_ultimate_evil

i'd just like to state that me, mentioning two face was in no way and should notbe taking as a request, i've been here long enough to know better.

it was just me thinking alound about it nothing more

i apologise volsung

Volsung

Evil, why do you apologise?!There's no harm. After all, Luthor was a kind of request.
And Two face is an interesting subject.

So here's our heavyweight skinning champion Revenant!
The first reason of this thread success is the opportunity that those models offer to skinners.
(More than me, pretending to make complete precise characters)
Nevertheless ,I dare to try a timmverse texture.
Just to test a good crossover between fake cell shading and detailled texture.
I even thought of duplicating and thicken the mesh to simulate cell shading outline. But it would double the polycount and i'd like to avoid LOD.
Anyway some skinners may need a texture basis , since I'll replace some mesh parts of the classic male basic (like the arms on Brainiac, the hands won't be exactly unwrapped the same way)

You guys are impatient to begin a skin for those new meshes so I'll hurry.
First ,putting a skeleton on those buffed up mesh and see if standard animations goes well.
(BTW Galatea 's got bobbed hair too!)

I'll export the models by using my good old 3ds max3.
Usually I convert them by using nifconverter
But you know that i've experienced some animations issues with multiples instances of some models in FFVTTR.
My models will have that error.Someone told me that it could be fixed by using nifskope.
I'll need someone to do that^^

The Hitman

So... these are going to be FFvTR only? Bummer.

Eh, I'll get over it. Great job again on the meshes, Vol!

No^^precisely!
Since i'm using max 3.1 and ff1 exporter
Usually for FFvttr I convert my exports with nif converter.
But it doesn't solve that issue

The Hitman

OK, that's cool. Thanks for clearing that up.

I just had a weird idea. Would it be possible to "Timm- ize" the original Freedom Force cast? I think it would be kinda neat to have , maybe, a mod that just replaces the regular meshes with Timm style ones. And I think it could be done. I seem to recall a mod by DarkJared of Comic Skins Network making one that replaced all the standard skins. And Irrational released all the Max Files... sorry, just thinking out loud.

Volsung

Well^^ I think what's already planned overworked me enough!
I resume those test soon. Moreover, Liberty bay awaits!

Revenant

Volsung

My eyes! It burns!
Stop teasing me!  :P

Volsung

Fake cell shading!

I still hesitate with the method

The Pwime

OH MY GOD!  :o

Volsung, that's SOOOO awesome!

The Hitman

Volsung

Thanks!
I admit i'm quite satisfied.

I must decide of a definitive style (the one that look better in game))
If i keep the outline, i'll see if I can't lower the polycount without loosing to much quality.
(I already sacrificed the fingers)
I'll use LOD if necessary.
Finally i'll test some famous keyframes to check if the model acts normally.

I guess Brainiac is the first of a  timmverse models legion!
I'm ready to make talking heads too if that can lead to a great DC Animated Universe mod!

Don't worry cat, after that last Brainiac test, I'll finish hawk and coppertop!
