No worries here.  I'm quite glad to see you doing something else for the community.

Volsung

Sure cat, but I don't want to slow down Liberty Bay

Now i wonder if the outline is necessary.
What do you guys think?

Volsung

Good argument. That spare me some troubles!

UnkoMan

Yeah, it looks great...

...of course I'd love to see the outline. BUT I don't want to cause an extra hassle for you. IPS is right that it'd look awkward compaired to other meshes, and it looks fantastic without them.

Save the outlines for something else... Like if you ever did a Slapstick mesh or something crazy like that.

Carravaggio

it'd be awesome to see a bunch of Av's skinned like that for the default meshes, it'd look really tidy. Whats that filter/plugin called again?

Volsung

I admit removing that outline plunge me into mourning. But it has to be done.
Anyway, that's for a polycount reason not for the homogeneous look between models.

Since I'm really planning to make tons of timmverse models, I even cancelled my incoming 'non-FF' projects.
Heroes, villains, but common thugs, civilians and cops too!
When making models, design and textures take me the most time
However with that timmverse project, the design are precise, and the texture can be done quickly!
I'm over motivated!!!

a bunch of Av's ?
I...don't understand.

Whats that filter/plugin called again?
I don't understand too^^;

Carravaggio

sorry,
avs=avatars
plugin/filter if the name of the effect that is used in photoshop to create the cell shading effect.

Volsung

Quoteplugin/filter if the name of the effect that is used in photoshop to create the cell shading effect.
there's no photoshop effect.I painted this. ^_^

Carravaggio

of course you did...you're Volsung   i shoulda known

Volsung

you're welcome sugar

Arg! I feel trapped at the office! Not enough work!
I won't be able to work on timmverse models tonight either.(300 at last!)

You'll be able to make avs skins when I'll release some basic timmverse male model.

Which makes me think that making precise timmverse models and release some buffed up male basic meshes (with basic textures coordonates) are two differents things.
After finishing Brainiac, and during liberty bay's stuff completion little by little I'll release the mesh of the previous tests so you guys could skin a little.

But after Brainiac, who's next?

quiet

cough solomon grundy cough

herodad1

jump over to marvel and try a hulk.

the_ultimate_evil

i agree with joker, a timm joker and a normal joker

*ducks back into the shadows*

cvc

Volsung I think they all look great, as far as next just to wait and see what you dream up is fun for me...
joker hehe ^_^

deanjo2000

Aquaman would be quite cool ;)
Will there be a base skin released so that we can all churn these out? :D

Carravaggio

i'm sure someone could muster up a timmverse base skinn, sounds like an interesting exercise. if Volsung doesn't put his hand up for that i'll have a go. i might have a go as well so you guiys have a choice of skins and parts.
as for aquaman, Volsung needn't mesh him-
the point of these timmverse meshes, as i understood it, was to giove us template meshes, that is, base meshes of certain builds/physiques and genders. then, using nifskope, we can move the appropriate parts over to that mesh to make any character we want. aquaman is 20 mins in nifskope, hair, gloves, fins and a belt. with all the parts available we can skope up almost any character we can imagine.
and trust me, skopiong is a lot easier than you might think. anyone can do it regardless of perceieved artistic talent.

Volsung

The joker? of course! who else?^^

Since i get some pms about the timm_male_basic and timm_male_hulking,I'll work on those two before finishing Brainiac, and my liberty bay work.
There's not much to be done so I hope that I'll be able to release them during next days.
Be warned that those two models are stretched and some unedited textures may look weird.

Once I'm done with all this unfinished stuff, it will be Joker's turn.
But i'll only do a timm joker as he looks like in JL.
Grundy (or two face) will have to wait.
I won't make any marvel models but some skinners can make a great work by skinning timm_male_hulking.

edit:Carravaggio feel free to release some nifskoped versions of the incoming timm_male_basic and timmverse_male_hulking for the community.Because, unless some other base meshes are necessary, i'll focus for now on precise characters (like with brainiac). The female and male_suit are quite rough. You guys may wait that i make a real accurate luthor or a precise female character.

Yeah I know...I talk more than I act...But posting on this thread (especially during my office hours) is a way to evacuate the frustration not to be able to work full time on that timmverse project^^I'm dreaming easely, but I really hope it could lead to a campain mod.(Maybe i should try to stay single  :D)

The thing is the aquaman from the show is the hooked one so might be a little harder to make unless you can remove a hand with nifscope? I really should  learn to nifscope ;)

the_ultimate_evil

ahh but the question is which design do you go for, old mr J has been redesigned at least 4 times. JLU being the best i believe

it could be alpha'd out easily enough.  ;)

Timm_Male_Basic:
REMOVED
I did not post him in the releases section. If there's problems or errors i prefer that you guys try it first.
He can use the male_basic compatible keyframes and the male_basic.tga skins.
I'm afraid of some weird mesh deformations during some extreme moves.(The male_basic has some kind of problems also, but with that bulk it's more obvious)
So?

edit:I hate rigging! I already had to fix the knees!

edit:It really need some fixing!

Carravaggio

argh! i dont have time to test this now i gotta go to University! dammit!

The Hitman

Hmmm... looks OK. I'm using Gren's Eternals kfs, and the only problem I see is that... it's hard to explain... it seems like the shoulders are stretched to where they are like the cartoon, but the joint is where the arms were originally.

EDIT:

Here's what I mean. This is just the walk animation. You can see where the shoulder should be, but... it's weird.

Volsung

yup I noticed that too. That's really dumpy.
I'll try several methods.
By changing bones influence, moving joint.Or even the vertexes...
I've been tempted to chop the arms!

arg...I can't remove the file from here!but i can remove the link^^

tommyboy

You will have problems using existing male_basic, hulking or whatever keyframes with meshes with altered geometry like these Bruce Timm style ones. The reason is that the keyframes will always try to distort the bips(bones) to their original positions and dimensions (think using male_heavy kfs on male_basic= male_stretched). This means that only the keyframes exported from Max with the altered meshes will look right. Unless the biped is unaltered in Max and only the mesh is altered.

Volsung

Oh... i see...
that's a... major drawback to those timmverse models.
In a way i'm glad to hear that's not a rigging problem...

I guess i can mix all animations contained in the irrationnal max files together by using biped motion flow.
Such as melee and ranged attacks...with my own kamenrider/kikaider brawling animations
I'll make different files for idle and fly stances...
That's annoying (especially for the notes)
That fact increase twice my work time
I must grin and bear it^^

But at least I'll only have to do it one time for all my future timmverse models.
Well, that also means I can add some accessories. (Some gadgets for the joker).

Does including too many animations in a kf may cause issues in game?

EDIT:I'll release a version with male_basic kfm export first. So you guys can begin a skin.

bearded

actually i think it might depend on how you are altering them.
are you changing the bones, or the actual model and not altering the bones?

Tomato

You might wanna try just keeping them stretched, but re-physicing the models to the original bones.

He looks much better thanks to Tommy hint.
I gave him Diablo's animations

If i'd skin the model to the basic 'unchanged' skeleton that would be worse, the joint doesn't match.
If there's no objection I'll post the link in the release thread too.
