Holy Crap Tommy! Excellent work....now please tell me that you're working on Parademons too!

jeremy355

Incredible stuff as always Tom. Firestorm, Bug Eyed Bandit, and Steppenwolf are my favorites. Man, I always wanted one of those Steppenwolf Super Powers figures when I was a kid.

Carravaggio

beautiful Tommyboy, the detail on Steppenwolf and virmin are outstanding. All those little bits and pieces really add to the meshes. Looks liek its time for Apokolips to invade Liberty City (via EZScript...)

JKCarrier

New Gods! Awesome!

Just in time for DC to kill them all off.  :P

WOW!

soo many great meshes,  I have to dsay i love Kanto, Steppenwolf and Lashina,  can't wait to get em into my rumble room :)

tommyboy

Thank you all kindly.
Now, since I only released a measly 11 meshes, heres some bonus ones that I forgot:

Krona_tf (Avengers/JLA version, K page DC section)

Hawkeye_tf(slightly updated from the tvlite version, both still available, _tf at bottom of the H page, Marvel Section)

And Warbird_tf (cos I've never done her before, W page Marvel section)

GGiant

Carravaggio

Damn, I stop in to check my messages and find you've released three more! Love that Krona, you really managed to capture his menace and imposing stature. I'll have to do a little digging to see what he is all about so i can make an appropriate hero file for the guy.

MY GOSH, TOMMY!

just AMAZING work on those New Gods...WOW!

Tommy!  You continue to astound me man, I don't know how you find time to eat, much less sleep the way you turn out quality meshes like this....not to mention that your standard skin continue to improve, in my opinion.  I am gonna' have to replace what I'm using for half of Darkseid's elite now, thanks to you! ^_^  Really amazing work on them, and great work on these new three too.

That Kanto is fantastic, I've been toying with skoping him for a while, with really poor results.  I'm glad I don't have to try anymore!

Granny Goodness....hmm...something seems a little off about her, but I can't put my finger on it...perhaps it's the hair?  Regardless, that's one of the best faces I've seen you do, she just looks so....mean and crotchety!

Great work on Stompa too, she's got the heaviness right, looks the right size which is important for her.  One question though, in that image, she's got a biker-style helmet, is one hexable with that mesh?  If not, cool, she still looks pretty awesome, but that would make her even more menacing.  It'll be nice to use an actual female mesh for her...I always felt weird having her on male_heavy....

Amazing Grace....well...fantastic rendition, really perfect.  You even got the sash around her waist, but now I have to go look her up and add her in....darn you.... :D

I LOVE that Lashina, great to actually have her lash built into the mesh now....like your Trok rendition...I have some ideas about how to incorporate that into her character....longer ranged melee attacks....good stuff!

Now, my favorite, Steppenwolf.  Tommy, I think this is the best mesh and the best skin I've seen from you.  Perhaps not your best ever, but the best in my memory.  Really fantastic work, capturing all the intricacies of a very complex design and the skin really does it justice.

Vermin, man, awesome to have a dedicated mesh for this little weasel, great face work on him as well!

The last one I'll comment on is the Bug Eyed Bandit.  Haha, you even got his little goofy squiggly thing on top of his helmet!  Thanks so much for doing this loser for me Tommy, I really appreciate it!

AfghanAnt

Great job on all of these. I may have to skin the Female Furies again. Lashina was always my favorite.

JKCarrier

So, Tom... any chance of a Mad Harriet and Bernadeth to round out the set?  ^_^

Revenant

I wish I had four thumbs... so I could give you four thumbs up!

Don't you know, Benton? Randy has captured Tommyboy and is keeping him imprisoned, feeding him only when he release cool stuff. (As a result, Tommy is on a five meals a day diet.)

Very, very nice Kanto mesh, Tommy – now, I'll just need to create a Leonardo da Vinci  skin. :)

Jakew

Love those meshes, particularly Steppenwolf ... one of my childhood faves. Great work!

RANDY! This is worse than I thought. "We're in trouble heroes, rally the troops we've got sharkmen to fight."

On the other hand, if we don't release Tboy, we'll keep getting cool meshes............

"don't worry guys, false alarm"

Thats really the first Ms. Marvel you've done?  wow!

and Krona! sweet work....you don't have a Monitor in the works do you?

JKCarrier

Tom - I ran into some issues trying to convert the Granny Goodness and Stompa meshes. If I just convert the NIF, the capes come out distorted (pulled to one side). But if I convert the keyframes as well, then the keys stop working. Anyone else seeing this?

I had similar problems with them, and fixed them, but possibly didn't upload the right(ie fixed) versions...I'll check, and if necessary upload 2-pack versions (ie both FF and preconverted FFV3R versions in the same package).

The Pwime

Tommy, you're crazy!!  :o

Absolutely remarkable work, both FF and MUA.

BentonGrey

Ahh man, I've been dying to get the Angel in an arcade game since XML!  What're his powers like Tommy?

Pretty much like Archangel in XML2 (I didn't do them, so I'm a bit vague), though I believe someone else was doing an Angel set of powers where winds replace blade throws etc. The powerset I'm using isn't quite right for him, but its better than nothing.
Go to:
http://marvelmods.com/forum/index.php
for more Mods, skins etc. I particularly recommend HeroSelect. It lets you add loads of characters without losing any, you select who you want from a GUI list before you play, then those are the characters in game. Then if you want you can revert to the original cast next time with one mouse click. Or have it select a random roster from all your installed character mods.

That heroselect looks awesome but it still sounds like a lot of work.  Is it a matter of downloading the mods to a file or do you have to go trough that trouble of overwriting existing characters?

tommyboy

Heroselect can be a bit hard to grasp at first.
It works like this:
You have your Mod, which consists of a number of files that go in different places (ie mesh/skin, talent file, powerset, FX, voice, icons and packages). Most Mods come with most or all these files and you just need to unzip them into the game directory (checking the readmes etc to see that you arent overwriting anything you havent backed up.
Most Mods now do not overwrite any existing files (N.B. NOT a guarantee).
So, having installed all the files you then open up a file in the Heroselect directory called "Herostat.cfg". You copy into this file the information required by the Herostat (almost always supplied with a Mod as a .txt file) You add aname directly above this entry, you add that name to a names list at the top of the file. Then save herostat.cfg.
Now you can run heroselect, use the "add" button to add the character you just edited into herostat.cfg, and they should appear on the list of selectable characters in Heroselect, below the listed default characters. Just choose up to 27 characters from your list of hundreds (potentially), hit the "accept team" button and then run the game.
No characters are overwritten, and you can change back to the default characters at the press of a button in heroselect.
It's not the perfect solution (which would be to be able to choose from hundreds of characters WITHIN the game). But for now its the best way to play custom character Mods.
The instructions that come with heroselect explain most of the above, and the author answers any reasonable question at the MarvelMods forums.

It can be a bit of a pain having to set up the characters (and it is to install custom character Mods any other way in MUA), but once they are in Heroselect and working, thats it, thats all you need to do.

So thats:
1 Download and install Mod
2. Edit herostat.cfg and save.
3. Run heroselect. Choose team, save, run game.

Once a mod is setup you just:
1.Run heroselect. Choose team, save, run game.

This sounds like the perfect solution. It sounds almost like Freedom Force.  Unzip the mesh and skin to the right directory. This is what I have been waiting for.  Now I can pick and choose any of your mods without have to override others.

One more question do I still have to restart to the beginning of the game everytime I choose a new character?

Yes, probably. Because of the way the savedgames are structured if you add new characters the saves become invalid. If you revert to the roster you had when you saved (ie the 25-27 characters) , I imagine it would work.

Cyber Burn

Thanks for the Hawkeye_tf Tommyboy, because now I can finally get around to skoping Green Arrow.

And after looking at those Hawkeye and Angel MUA meshes, this is the first time that I actually regret not getting into that game.
