Cool!

Thank you.
Heres another overdue renovation:
Vulture_tf

All my own work this time (which explains the poor quality...)

Xenolith

Wow.  Your skinning is really improving, and the nose on the Vulture...priceless!  Thanks Tommyboy, and nice job.

Podmark

Vulture looks quite nice. Head is very fitting.

Jakew

I love that Vulture

You're doing some very cool stuffy. Tommy!

AfghanAnt

Nice meshing on Vulture's face. I really like thw way it came out.

tommyboy

Thank you all kindly.
Now, much to the annoyance of anyone awaiting my Megamap project, instead of doing that, I've been doing this:

Iron_man_MK20_tf
Changelog: Now on a '_tf' mesh (ie a mesh with fingers).
Better mapping, I hope.
Improved several bits of the geometry to fit better, made sure there is less clipping and everything that should be seen is.
New keyframes with flying_melees included.
New keyframes include in-flight bootjets.
Updated and I hope, improved the standard skin.

Geometry all by me.
Skin by me (though I did pretty much trace Granov on the torso)
Animations by Grenadier, except those by me. (Mine are the 'special_a to _m' and flying_melees, and melee_7-11, and the bootjet stuff, some ranged anims.

billdamn22

Fantastic mesh with an astounding standard, Tommy!! Excellent work!

Xenolith

Agree 100%.  IMO, Yyour best mesh ever.  The skin is very, very good.  Those rockets really take the cake.

Blkcasanova247

Sweet...super sweet! And yes...this skin oppossed to the original that you did for the other version..MUCH improved. Good one Tom!

R.O.M

  this is HOTTT the mesh and the skin is great. you the Man tommyBoy

Podmark

ooooo me likely alot. I happen to love that armor for Iron Man and this a nice update!

Avalon

Awesome job. Skin looks top notch. Great Job on the animations as well (like the flying animes).

Xenolith

I have a question for you, sir.  I thought I'd take your new Iron Man Mk. 20 keyframes and stick them with your fairly new Iron Man Mk. 5 mesh.  It didn't work.  I realize I could use Nifskope to make it work, but what I'd really like to know is why the Mk. 20 kf's don't work with the Mk. 5 mesh?  Is there something different between the meshes that the keframes are referencing?  I'm woefully ignorant when it comes to the construction of meshes and I've always wanted to know.

Thanks!

The Mk20 has bootjets. That's probably enough to stop it working with any mesh that hasn't. I'll try to get to an updated MK5_tf at some point.

tommyboy

Thanks for the kind words.
Heres a teaser pic of Iron_man_Mk21_tf (come on, you knew that was coming, didn't you?).
Substantially reworked the geometry, trying to capture that sleek look Granov in particular gets. All new chest piece, arm parts, reworked thighs, new lower legs, and new skin.

Should be ready in a day or three. I still have to re-do the legs in the skin.

detourne_me

awesome work tommy!
these guys are definitely up on the list of best tommyboy meshes ever...next to hobgoblin, mister fantastic, lex luthor, doctor strange, squirrel girl, etc.  :D

Podmark

Ya know I keep getting confused which armor is the Granov one and which is the one before it. I like both but I love the Granov armor and the new mesh is a big improvement. Looks great Tommy!

Meanwhile, not a mesh, and not my work, but...
With Revenant's kind permission, I'm happy to announce that his gorgeous skin is now available to download from my website:
http://tommyboymeshes.freedomforceforever.com/Marvel%20meshes%20I.html
scroll down to the bottom of the page.
In case you've forgotten, it looks like this:

You can find the mesh on the same page.
Oh, and it looks equally good on either version of the mk20 meshes.
A big 'Thank you' to Revenant.

Gremlin

Sweet! I love your Iron Men, Tommy. They're all stellar work. And Rev's skin is a beut! ^_^

tommyboy

OK, so the latest version of NifSkope can add a bumpmap to any part of any mesh.
Some of you will remember this from way back when, it turned out much too shiny, and was quickly abandoned.
But by playing with various values, and the skins themselves I've gotten it to work a little better.
I'm uploading a Proof-of-concept pack featuring bumpmap enabled versions of my Cap_america_tf_bump, IM_mk21_tf_bump, and Thing_bumpy.
Pics just cannot do it justice, as you really need to see the effect in Ctool or in-game to appreciate that it's there at all, but here are some pics anyway:

Now, it's a long way from perfect, in several ways:
1. There is still shinyness. On any bumpmap enabled mesh, though this can be toned down. For Caps shirt and shield, or Iron Man's Armour, the shinyness is not such an issue. You may feel that the Thing should not be reflective at all. There may be no way around this. You have to have a slight reflect layer to get it to show the bumps.
2. The bumpmap for the standard skin tends to be used for all non-standard skins, even if they have their own bumpmaps. No way round this for now, that I know of..but I've only been playing with it today, so who knows.

On the plus side, ANY mesh can be bumpmapped, be it for FF or FFv3R, though I found I had to tweak the settings differently for each game. It takes about 30 seconds to do in nifskope, though a mesh like IM_MK21_tf with lots of separate bits takes longer. The quality of the bumpmaps is up to you. You can use Normalmapping, or just rename standard male_basic if you are pushed for time.
I'll post the nifskope settings I've used in the next few days, in a mini tutorial, but from what I've seen, there is much scope for experimentation, as there is with the normal maps themselves.

The pack of three bumpmap-enabled meshes can be found here:

GogglesPizanno

Nice. I played around with bump mapping for a while and never could get it to work.
In fact I never thought the game itself supported it... Nif meshes obviously did, but not the game engine.

Well call me shirley....

Well, it does and it doesn't support it. You can get it to show up, but usually with a great deal of shinyness.
And for the most part, you aren't zoomed in enough to appreciate bumpmapped scales on caps shirt. But it adds to what we can do. It might be nice on backgrounds, brick walls, that sort of thing.

Yeah def, even in other gamebryo games, they're not used on characters nearly as much as walls(oblivion springs to mind). And um it was overly shiny in oblivion too, so this doesn't seem all that bad at all.
