I saw an article on an early version of this, but it's now sleeker and connects to more of the body.  I can boost the strength of the wearer over 5 times.

Lunarman

wow, that's weird, I don't think it'll become useful for years to come, it looks a bit too cumbersome still.

Nice find

Lot's of cool stuff on that site (http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-gadget/top-5-future-technologies), including a partial invisibility cloak and that sketch tool interface to a physics engine looks awesome.

UnkoMan

They named it HAL? They are asking for trouble.

Actually, I think this is a great inovation.  I can see uses for this in the field of prostetic limbs as well as industrial uses. And it looks so space-agey too  :D

Actually, the original purpose for this suit was to aid those with physical disabilities.

For example, a person confined to a wheelchair because of something that leaves the legs intact but weakened, like polio, could use this thing to walk again.  A person with back problems could use it to lift.

Of course, I seriously doubt that is what it will actually end up being used for.

Mr. Cow

another thing if they come out with these it's asking for more crimes. why break into safe's when you can pick them up and carry them away to a safe location. or imagine having a person in one of those punch you at their full strength.

It does look like a cool invention, dont get me wrong. but i think there are plenty of ways this could go sour.

It won't be long before the military will be getting hold of some of these, although, does it allow you to be as agile as you normally are. Will your movements be slowed?

Just about any technology can be put to beneficial or harmful purpose, from a simple stick to the most advanced hyper-gizmo. I am psyched to see our capabilities advance and have confidence that we end up better off, in the aggregate.
