Browsing the CO* boards, I found this thread: http://boards.cityofvillains.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=villains&Number=7900671&page=0&fpart=1

So apparently, chem nukes and shivans can essentially do the entire thing themselves. Now the question is, do we wanna try it? We have quite a few stalker and dom level 50's, and our lack of a stone brute and therm corr makes the "charge" strategy extremely hard if not impossible to pull off. Pulling never worked as well as it should have, so we're basically left with this strategy.

Like it says, the nuke and shivan strat can be run with basically any AT combo. And we do have a alot of the "useless" AT's.

If people are up for it we'd need everyone to have 2 things, a chem nuke and a set of shivans. Also, the only person I know with vengeance so far is my 46 MM, so we'd need a couple other people to cram that into their build.

We'd probably easily be able to set up nuke runs, ephy is the master when it comes to them, so he could probably lead a team. Shivans are even simpler.

But what we need is atleast 8 people who have no qualms with the cheap way. We just don't have the builds for the "legit" way, and it's not our fault the devs are incompetent in the way they built thing.

If you're interested, the task force is lvl 45-50, though the more 50's the better, and for this method any AT is fine.

Stopman

Sounds like an interesting approach. Essbeedee is all nuked and shivaned up and can help prep others. I may consider vet respec'ing Vengance. Who needs Patron Powers anyways??? Oh, and I already have recall friend.

Let us know when.

In case anybody doesn't think it can be done:

And I'm totally in. ;)

Stopman

Well, I lucked out into a PUG with 6 corruptors and 1 stone brute that have been doing this regularly. They even knew where the next TF mission doors would spawn!

Anyways, we did it in less that 2.5 hours on Friday. The basic strategy for the last missions was buff brute & stalker (me)/debuff heroes and rush in. We also tried the vengance bit but wiped the first attempt. The second attempt was more successful with stocking up on 2nd/3rd tier inspirations, plus I raided the base for empowerment buffs, so I could survive with Kuji-In Retsu on. My chem nuke seemed to help in the alpha strike, and we only summoned 2 Shivans (I had one and a corruptor had one). We took them down in this order: Numina, Sister Psyche, Positron, Manitcore, Synapse, Citadel, States, then BaB.

I need to go stock back up on the chem nuke. But I wouldn't mind doing this again. Perhaps more with the all Shivan, stacking vengance attack.

captainspud

1) Vengeance doesn't stack anymore
2) I got n00b up to 45, respecced into Vengeance (I'd been meaning to pick it up anyway), and picked up fresh Shivans and all three Nukes. He's ready to rock.

Viking

I'll be happy to join with Absolut Brut for any LRSF attempt.

Camma

I can give it a shot with Khira.  She doesnt have any of the temp powers mentioned tho.  Shivans i know how to get (havent attempted it solo with a corruptor tho...ill give it a shot.  The nukes i have no experience with so a guided tour of warburg would be nice.

Steps for a nuke:

1. Go underground in Warburg (there are three entrances). Go to the central chamber.
2. Find a nerd.
3. Kill all spiders around the nerd.
4. Talk to the nerd and tell him to follow you. You will get a map point telling you where he wants to go.
5. Lead him topside.
6. Go to his drop point. He'll give you 1/3 of a launch code.
7. Repeat 1-6 two more times.
8. Take your completed launch code to one of the underground terminals shown on your map. There are three possible terminals you can use-- Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological.
9. Use the terminal.
10. Quickly go back up and use the terminal in the center of the zone, by the launch site.

Your nuke launches. It stays in orbit until you're ready to call it down.

**********************************************************

That's the basics. Here are my tips for doing it quickly:

1. Have VidiotMaps. They show the underground tunnels. This is ESSENTIAL.
2. Go at night or midday on a weekday. You want to be the only person in the zone. If someone PvPs you, they get your codes. This friggin SUCKS. :(
3. There are three doors to go underground. The east tunnel winds way too damn much and is too long. The north one is jammed with Arachnobots. USE THE SOUTH TUNNEL. It's super-short and sparsely populated. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS use this tunnel. VidiotMaps will show you this tunnel. It comes out of the southwest corner of the complex.
4. On the surface, I find it's simplest to just use the main road to move around. This is the perimeter road marked in lighter gray on your map. There's nothing here for your nerd to get snagged on, and plenty of room to hug walls to avoid patrols.
5. Your nerd can keep up with Sprint OR Swift. Not both.

My fastest nerd escort run was 12 minutes, with the nerd wanting to go to a door just outside the south exit. My longest was about 30 minutes, with extra aggro and PvPers. On average, plan to take 40-60 minutes to get all three codes and launch your nuke.

Oh, and one other thing-- DON'T TEAM UP. Only the person leading the nerd gets the code, as far as I know. If you're doing it in a pack, be separate entities and simply fight and travel together. Get three nerds and haul them all upstairs. More than three people and you'll have trouble finding enough nerds for everybody.

Ephemeris

I find taking the tunnel entrance closest to the station that you're leading your 'nerd' to is best.  I wouldn't get attacked often, even during peak hours, because I wasn't exposed in the open for too long.
For the northern three stations, I'd use the northern entrance.  For the eastern station, use the eastern entrance.  For the southwestern station, use the southwestern entrance.

Getting the phase shift power from the patrol mission helps as well.

This doesn't effect your Nerds' ability to follow?

Yes it does (I think), but it prevents enemies from stealing the codes you already have.

Verfall

In discussion with TW, we just need to check with Mikey to make sure his Rad shows up and we can porbably give it a shot this weekend. So make sure you have atleast 2 shivans and a chem nuke each everyone.

Verfall

Ok so far we're leaning towards Friday night say 7 Central.

From me we have a 46 bots/dark MM and a 50 ss/fire brute.

From TW we got a 50 fire/kin corr, a 50 thugs/traps mm and a 50 elec/elec brute.

From Volt we have a 50 ninjas/dark mm.

I believe ephy is bringing his ice/cold corr, and spud is bringing his bots/traps mm. Camma has an ice cold corr and viking has a dark/dark brute.

Plus Jamie and Flim are possibly coming, which would give us an ice/dark corr, an ss/energy brute or a stone/elec brute.

It's a mish-mash of toons, but we hopefully can pull it off.

captainspud

Well, it's definitely a better arsenal than we had six months ago.

Not having a Stoner or Invuln is going to be tough. What are the armor numbers on Electric, Dark, and Fire for a Brute? Might as well toss in Invuln and Granite for comparison if anybody knows...

We've got two of the "magic five" for Corruptor content-- Kin/Kin/Rad/Rad/Thermal. That said, we have the two essential ones, and there really isn't a "Bad" corruptor secondary.

I'm not seeing any Doms or Stalkers listed, which is nice. :)

So, yeah. I think we can probably do this. I'll outfit the TI and Freakz bases with multiple Insp storage units and load them with Purples and Oranges so we can all stock up on the final missions. I'd definitely encourage everybody to give the nuke run a shot BEFORE the start time. Worst case, I'll try to be on an hour or two beforehand to run the Warburg noobs through it, but I'd prefer it if I didn't have to do more than one or two people. Please send me a PM if you think you'll need help with this.

On a similar note, check your Shivan levels-- if you have less than 3, burn out your Shivan Shard and go get a new one.

I'd really like to have everybody prepped ahead of time so we can start right away. That means getting all your gear arranged, AND reading through This Guide from "Warhead Rush" down to the suggested Inspirations. Just read through it so you're familiar with the whole plan.

Verfall

Elec has the highest base res outside of granite and has the best tier 9 outside of granite. Elec can take it.
Problem is our lack of a direct heal for him. I hate to say it but my fire brute or FN's dark brute might be the better choice for their heals.

As for inspirations, don't worry, just log in Lord Spood and check out RG's base. Rook hooked us up with enough insps bins it'll make you weep with joy. I'm 99% sure we have 50 of the tier 3 def and res insps, if not 50 of every type of tier 3 insp.

Stopman

Let me know if you need an extra body, and I'll try to get on. Looks like you have a possible 9 people for this, though.

Ess is vengance'd, shivan'ed, and I should get the chem warhead later this week. Stalkers can't even get me in Warburg, since I also have tactics now. :)
Oh, and I have tp friend as well.

Another good idea is the stock up the empowerment buff larder in the RG base. Will work on that this week.

Verfall

Actually one of the things mentioned in the guide is stealthing and tping...so we could really use stoppy.

With Easter coming up I was thinking we could shoot for two of these, so if anyone can't show up Friday we can run it with them the next weekend.

Stopman

Okay, got the clear for Friday night, 7pm Central. Chem nuked up and the empowerment stations have an excess of components ready for buffage, in the bin in between them in the RG base.

Guess we need more high-tier purps, though?

Viking

I'll be available Friday evening for the LRSF run, with Absolut Brut.

captainspud

A reminder to everbody that this starts in five hours. Can we get a quick sound-off of who's coming and whether you've got Shivans/a nuke?

MikeB7

I have to get up real early tomorrow for a marathon assembly of this HUGE swingset/fort thing we got for Sara.  I'll need to be well rested for it, as it's a big project and it's supposed to get pretty warm tomorrow.

Septus doesn't have any nukes and should recharge the shivans anyway, so I'll hold off for the second try.  If the stars align and my energy's high tonight, I can try to make it but I wouldn't count on Septus.

captainspud

Crap. We were kinda counting on a /Rad for the two first AV fights. :(
