I'm liking the facial hair, the sleeves and the skin itself. Not much I can offer atthis point til we see some more progress. What is there is good, but much of its unfinished. I would recommend against just using a reflect layer to show texture in the future, it can make things look plastic.
Maybe make the bright yellow more of a gold colour? its a bit cartoony. You could use some variation of C6's male_metal base for the detail on his chestplate.
all in all a good start.

Gremlin

I'd say definitely make him older.  He's supposed to be rather past his prime, but still a remarkably formidable opponent.

I like the skope work a lot, although there's some clipping around the wrist.  The hair, beard, shoulders and tunic are all nice.  Maybe drop the O logo, though; the leaf ring was more of a Roman thing, if I recall correctly.

I love the expression so far: nice and cocky.

Cool beans!

UnkoMan

I'll add that a sword of some sort would be sweet. Or maybe even a spear or something.

As for the skin itself... Drop the white around the neck. It's not needed. Also, are those suppose to be scars on his legs or is that just the base skin? If scars, I'd make them stand out a bit more, and make them not the same on both sides. It's more natural.

Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

I thought that as he was sent back in time, *some* of his youth was restored...? I can make him older anyways.

Thanks. Right now, it's based on the vxApollo mesh, with pieces from hephestaus_tv (spelling?). I was however thinking of perhaps changing the body mesh to one that uses weapons in melee attacks. Any suggestions? I'm agree that the Olive leave wreath is more Roman in origin, but I felt that the armour needed a focal point... that and I had just finished watching a few episodes of Rome :D.

You can thank Bill Shatner for that one :P.

Yeah, I still haven't tweaked the refl layer and the chestplate exactly to my liking yet. Glad you liked what little was done!

Definitely agree with you about the sword/spear. Whether I just tack it onto this skope at his hips or if I use a whole new mesh is the only question.

The white bit around his neck was supposed to be his tunic peeking out from under the armour, but if you say it isn't needed... And the things on his legs? They're veins and are part of House Quake's base skin. I was either thinking of putting body hair to cover it up, or extending the sandals more.

The look in the original skin and the mod main screen is of a much older man who is still quite powerful.  Of course, you can interpret him however you want, but I have my own preferences for the skin I end up using in the mod itself.  Skin versions I don't use end up being assigned, at least in my mind, to an alternate universe.

So I missed previewing these during Independence Week, but here are two of my originals: The Patriarch and Canadian Bullet.

In the Alphaverse, The Patriarch is a WWII American Hero that was officially KIA in a mission in Asia, but was lost (or maybe hidden...? :P) for decades in suspended animation. The Canadian Bullet is actually a partial clone of the Patriarch, using genetic information the US shared with Canada via the NATO Metahuman Program.

The Patriarch is a skope of Ren's Superman mesh onto his Issiah Bradley mesh, while Canadian Bullet is simply just a hex of Ren's Captain Marvel mesh.

Dr.Volt

Hooray!!!   Another Canuck hero!  Great work on Patriot and Canadian Bullet!

These are really nice designs. Canada needs more heroes. My only critique is that they seem really flat. Check out Carravaggio's highlight tutorial located here:
