More work inspired by fellow skopers. Guns wont show in CT, unfortunately, ill mess about with it some more.

BentonGrey

Awesome stuff!  Hey GGiant, where did that tank come from?  I need to get my hands on that for...something.

Since y'all are all experimenting with war machines, do y'all have anything in the giant tripod variety?

The shoulder distorts if I try a driver position. :(

detourne_me

holy crap im thoroughly impressed by everybody!!!!  Thor Reborn.  rename the male_basic texture on the mesh BEFORE pasting it into your new skope.  :)texture

BentonGrey

That thing could also accommodate the original owners of that cycle, couldn't it? ^_^

So long as you put big bear on a male_muscular rather than a male heavy. Otherwise there might be some distortion, unless someone knows something I don't.  I'd use Beyonders male_muscular from his male_muscular hammer (thor-style) mesh.

Awesome super cycle TR!

The Hitman

Holy- Freakin'-  Son- Of- A- Gun!! Super Cycle's amazing, TR!

Podmark

I am in awe at the Supercycle. Plus it makes me smile to see the Young Justice boys onboard.

Prof X evolved! Well, actually i'd rather use this to make a new character, but the brain looks more like a turban at the moment. I might have to recolour it so it looks more like grey matter.

Jakew

Would anyone be interested in skoping a cold gun and appropriate keyframes onto the male_scap mesh by Renegade? I'd really like to play with the chap in the top picture http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6d/Icicle.jpg I need more WW2-era JSA baddies.

Cheers,
jw

Ok so through further skoping there is now 12 variations on the male_basic_rifle mesh. The Nif and keyframes are just over a meg all together.
Even tho the refl and glow files are only 2x2, the overall folder size of all elements, skins, nif and KF weighs in currently at about 28 meg. Thats a biiig folder full of facist badness, and as i stated before, by setting the character skin on random, you rarely see the same soldier twice. BUT is 28 meg too big a price to pay for that luxury? Would i be better off making a single soldier skin/skope and releasing that instead? Does anyone feel that its worth downloading all this to have a range of Nazi soldiers in the rumble room?
I ask here because this is the most frequented skoping thread, and my question relates to a skope i posted previously.

tl;dr, would anyone actually want 28 meg of nazi variation?

GGiant

Cool as always.
Anyway, here's a new version of the mecha tank:

style

Excelent!!!  GGiant you remind me alot of myself, a take charge kind of guy!  Keep it pumpin' homey!

The Hitman

Car- You can condense that down a little. If you have parts of the .tgas for the hepmets that don't overlap, you can put each of them on one .tga, and change the filename in NifSkope. Can someone explain that clearer for me?

Heh, unfortunately most of the helmets are mapped to the same location, right around where the head is on a male_basic skin. Prometheus, nova, cap, and iron mans helm all occupy roughly the same spot :(

detourne_me

Car,  that is actually quite easy to change.
For example,   make a tga by cutting and pasting all of the helmets into a grid,  just keep the tga the same size a regular male_basic.tga is.
then in nifskope, rename all of the helmets to "helmets.tga" or whatever you called that file.

Then one by one, rightclick on each helmet mesh piece itself (or the editable mesh) and go to texture->edit UV mapping
this will open up a new window. The new window will open up the tga that you have the mesh piece assigned to.  You'll see the wireframe for the helmet in white,   drag a square around the wireframe to turn it yellow.  then put your cursor over one of the squares in it (until your cursor becomes a normal arrow)  then you can move the entire wireframe , and chang the texture mapping, to the spot in the helmets.tga where that actual helmet is.
This is a super cool way of saving space too,  as you can usually put all extras pieces onto one .tga instead of having 3 or four.

Carravaggio

D, you are my new best friend *hugs* :D
That should halve the space these guys take up! thanks dude!

ummn... its about as easily explained as what i just wrote. i don't think there are any tutorials on the subject yet.

open up the meshes,  go through all the nodes, look for ones that are different,  i.e. cape top, sword, Dummy_right_hand etc.  and just copy and paste the nodes into their respective places on the new mesh,  you don't need to copy the editable mesh pieces,  just the nodes.

right,  think of keyframes as a recipe, and the mesh as the ingredients.
recipes say break two eggs,  you need two eggs.
keyframes say move the cape, the mesh needs the cape node to move it.

EDIT: i think i might put together a tutorial on the subject actually.  I'll probably use Jik's Deadpool mesh as an example since his kf set was one of the easiest to transfer.
Can you make the tutorial now coz I can't do it.

GGiant

Hey where did the skopers go?
Cable with new guns:

Apparently, I did this to make the guns identical to the cable in MUGEN.

Oh we've been keeping busy...

Not the most technical taxing skope, but c'mon, how cool is that? :D
Nice work on cable's guns, GGiant, you should check out that mesh when it had C6's cable skin on it, its bewdifull!

EDIT:
With Minute Man's heavyweight upgrade, the Furer figured he needed some estra firepower as well! To that end Nazi scientists constructed a special environmental armour to Hitler, designed to go toe to toe with even the strongest superhumans of the time.
Like the Mindreader/brain in a jar character i'm finding that Hitler's head disappears at about half the time for a range of angles. Im not sure why that is...

EDIT 2:

The Brainbots, amply armoured psionic slaves that serve the malicious Mindreader!

Damn wisdom teeth make it impossible to sleep so i'm up late skoping...not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing...

Hey I got some goodies to show coming soon!

Carravaggio

I can see absolutely no benefit to this skope, i don't know why ANYONE would want Minuteman on Spidey's KF. I did it just to see what it looks like, and now i can't unsee it!

Courtesy of your friendly neighbourhood Minute Man!

EDIT: Something I do find beneficial, unlike The Amazing Spider-Minute Man, is a more hands on Mentor:

Mentor on REN's Omniman KF. Also uses Gryphon's gorgeous Mentalist skin. Ideally i'd like to skope a Martian Manhunter version of Mentor complete with alpha'ed intangibility passive defense animations.
Maybe tomorrow night.

EDIT: Poor Minuteman seems to be going through something of an identity crisis of late...

When i saw the skope Style did on minute man with Golden Age cap's shield i imagined how interesting it would be to play through the entore FF game with minute man as a shield slinger. Most of his original powers would over lap (big punch, punch with knock back, stunning ranged attack{shield throw}, two hit melee etc.)
Since then i've been scouting for other versions of FF's resident patriot that could be assembled, such as the "super" minute man.

Now this guy needs some explanation. the skin is AFGHAN ANT's and I'm just using it for a placeholder cos it uses similar colours to those ill be using when i skin this guy. i'm not releasing it with AA's skin etc etc. I wish i could make a skin as good as the one it has on it, but i'll just do my best  :P
Its the legionnaire helmet on REN's captain marvel, to create Olympiad, the despot who possesses all the powers of the greek/roman gods! the story goes he was a mortal who challenged the gods of Olympus at their own game (beat Ares in combat, outran Hermes) and one by one defeated and slew them. He took their power and became an immortal all god that rules ancient times. In this alternate time the roman empire continues to this day, more powerful than ever. Its a slight nod of the head to a similar timeline Alan Moore created in Top Ten.

Spider-Ant,
Spider-Ant,
Does whatever spider..or an ant..can,
spins up webs of any size, devours enemies in a merciless swarm for the good of the hive,
look out! here comes the Spider-ant!

Wow good thing i have looks cos i suck at parodies and lyric writing...
Anyway a skope that makes a bit more sense, The Ant on Spidey keys.
"Did somebody order an Ant?"
Oh yeah and cheers to DM and Style cos they got me interested in using Irrational meshes in the first place

One more before bed. My brain is bouncing with ideas for more of the same, but its late. if i dont get to sleep soon ill miss most of tomorrow :(
Just saw the gun is a little whack outta place. Wont matter as i plan on replacing it with a retro freeze pistol anyway.
Finally a big thanks to all the meshers that make these wonderful toys and let us play with them so, you guys did the hard work, we are mere copy-and-pasters!

yell0w_lantern

The disappearing on different angles is a transparency issue I've had exporting from Max. Mind you, I don't often export transparent bits so this is one maybe two meshes I'm talking about. Anyway, the main example is transparent skirt where the body under it disappears at times.

Epimethee

Really nice work, Carravaggio! I hope you release these Mentor and Minuteman soon. :)
