I'd love to see the current Green Arrow costume (hood, sword, bow) on that skope. Anyone?

this is for all you FF7 fans out there... I don't know if anyone know this guy, but... :P

too bad there's still no long masamune out there... if there is... well... you know the drill... hehehe
I'm working on an FF7 Cloud too... but still doing his hair... (so few anime hairs out there)...

NPI has a Naginata mesh....you should be able to attach it to this mesh.

check it out here (bottom of the page):  http://newpowerinc.com/meshworks/valandar/val_mod_goodies.htm

Hey guys, I'm going to post this here in the hopes that someone knows how to fix it, but I'm having a bit of a problem with some skoped meshes.  It's something I'd seen before, but I've always been able to work around it in terms of mesh choice.  Anyroad, it's the issue where the characters show up dark in-game.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

BentonGrey

Thanks IPS, that's actually a big help, I'll contact Ren. ^_^

detourne_me

also with skoped meshes,  you can open the meshes up in Nifskope,  then you click on every editable mesh part (every one, the body, the hair, the extras, etc)
when you click on the editable mesh, open up the branch and click on the little pallette icon,  that will open up a new window.  with the new window open you'll see fouyr colour wheels,  the bottom right one "Emissive" needs to be changed.  i usually drag the marker from the bottom left to the bottom level and that fixes the darkness problems.

i don't remember if it was Revenant or Renegade that figured that one out too.

Or you could run the mesh through the EZnifconverter with the "lighten" option checked...

detourne_me

trouble is some skopes crash the nifconvertor.

Which is when you'd switch to the other suggested methods

BentonGrey

Actually, I've run them through that already, and didn't notice an appreciable difference, one of them may have been somewhat better, but they are all definitely still too dark.  I'll try the Nifskope solution.

:EDIT: Thanks DM, that worked like a charm!  Thanks to everyone for answering my question, too. ^_^

Revenant

Renegade found the value, you need to hex the emissive color to make the meshes lighter... it should be lightened to a mid-grey.  You can do it thru a traditional hex editor or (more quickly) thru NifSkope, just like how Detourne said above

Now back to our regular scheduled program!

A little somethin', somethin' ;)

Needs a new skin :(

Joe Fixit ... thats spot-on!

I hate this thread... :banghead:  Nothing ever gets released

detourne_me

yeah this thread is really here to showcase what people have skoped themselves.  if you want releases... check the releases thread.  i've always thought of this thread as inspiration for people to learn how to skope for themselves.  really,  it's much easier than meshing, skinning, or or scripting.
download nifskope, crack open some meshes and take a look at the tutorials on the FR wiki, or ask for help in the hexing forum,

Yep, y'all inspired me to do a lot of really...extremely...ridiculously minor tinkering with things for my own projects. ^_^

Don't forget to check out Wingzero 2525's The Shredder mesh. It might have parts you'd like to use.

By Crom!

This is an early WIP.  still need to add gauntlets, and probably a belt or two.  maybe bootcuffs too.  not sure yet.
the skin is TUE's He-Man just for a place holder. If anybody would like to skin him please let me know.
made with Grenadier's parts and Tommyboy's hulk tiara and Renegade's GA skirt

I glad someone is doing a great Conan ... love the character.

Fingers crossed for a Red Sonja.
