Newbie Instal Problem

hey sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i just got  :ffvstr: and am having trouble installing the meshes and skins
i dont really know how to go about it. I've checked some guides about this but am still having trouble. thanks in advance for any help

Hey, don't worry about it. Installing meshes and skins is easy.

What you need to do is go into your main FFvsTR directory. Then go to custom/art/library/characters. If you don't have these folders, just create them. Once there you put your mesh folders in. Then you open the mesh folder, and a folder for skins, and you add your folders with the actual skins. I know, it's a million folders, but it's a nicely organized way to do it.

That should be it.

thanks a ton bro, i finally got some to work
my one problem now, is idk where to get the mesh for the skins that need male_basic. i downloaded the custom mesh pack from ff/modforce, but its only the head so it doesnt work
any ideas? thanks again

It helps a lot to make desktop shortcuts to your Characters folder.  That way you can easily access it, and drop files right into the shortcut.

Same problem, i have  ffvstr and i cant install the meshes and skins i already checked some guides like frworld.wikispaces.com/message/view/Installing+skins+and+meshe
but it seems doesnt work.the only custom guy i have is the slowball in this folder:C:\Documents and Settings\Maxguy2099\Local Settings\Application Data\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich\Custom\Heroes

any ideas??

i juust drop the folder like this:
C:\Documents and Settings\Maxguy2099\Local Settings\Application Data\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs the 3rd Reich\Custom\Art\library\characters\BatmanTD_2

You're confusing a herofile with a mesh/skin. To see custom skins and meshes, you actually need to create a new hero and switch to the custom meshes panel.

Its like what Previsionary said.

You can install skins and meshes, and they are now available, but they aren't going to be playable in the game until you create a new character that uses one of the new meshes.

So for your example with Batman.
If you have extracted the mesh and skins correctly, you should be able to load the game, and select the "characters" section then create a new character, and select the Batman mesh as the mesh to use.

Hi guys, i have this new problem... i want to install The Flash (by gryphon) it says that its compatible whit  :ffvstr: and it have a .dds file.I already copy this folder, like this C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich\Custom\Art\library\characters\TheFlash.
something wrong? its different for this kind of files?...

This is where I got into problems but I've never been able to figure out where the heck I get the nif files, all I have is the head.nif.  Also why is it that I drop a skin in a folder under one of the meshes I have but I can't choose that skin?  Sorry I'm super new to this.

This is where I got into problems but I've never been able to figure out where the heck I get the nif files, all I have is the head.nif.  Also why is it that I drop a skin in a folder under one of the meshes I have but I can't choose that skin?  Sorry I'm super new to this.

The files are labeled wrongly at that site. The pack labeled heads has the full meshes, the one labeled meshes has the heads (as you have found). Download the headpack.
