Nifskope: Copying an entire mesh to another mesh?

Thanks to all the great tips and tutorials, I've learned how to move pieces from one mesh to another.

What I thought I've seen people talk about is being able to move an entire mesh (or at least the typical male_basic portion) from one mesh to another so that the "source" mesh would then be able to utilize the "destination" mesh's keyframes.

Is this possible?  If it is, what portion of the source mesh would one copy (scene root, node, editable mesh) and where would one paste it?

I'm not 100% sure, but I did copy male_muscular onto tommyboy's warrior versatile t and it still worked.  My guess is that it would work unless the meshes were too incompatible.  For example, dropping a male_hulking onto a male_basic.

This is an assumption, but dont the kfs just need to have the proper nodes to work? So if you added nodes i would it would work? is that wrong?

I've Copied Tommyboy's Captain America_tvlite mesh (from the scene root) and pasted onto Irrational's Minute Man mesh (onto the scene root).   I then hid the Minute Man mesh itself (I think from the editable mesh, I don't remember).   Captain America_tvlite then had Minute Man keyframes.

It was a while ago, so I hope I'm not forgetting any steps.

You can totally do this with just about any mesh!!!! :thumbup:Case in point:

The whole Renegade Vigilante mesh(except for guitar and lasso)is on Tommyboys Vigilante bike mesh! ^_^

That's spot on. To get Belle of Vichy working with Tricolour keyframes I added some nodes to Belle and removed some nodes from the keyframes to produce a match.

Thanks for the help.  I've gotten it to work a few times.  In the instances that it didn't, I suppose was using two meshes that were just incompatible.  I guess it's hit or miss in that regard.

keep in mnd it's the biped that dictates the keyframes, not the mesh body, male hulking's biped is obviously larger than male basic's, so placing male basic onyto a male hlking biped would create mass distortion
