A new trend I'm seeing is heroes really punking out the Heralds. During Civil War, terrax shows up and Sentry breaks his Cosmic Axe. He just shoes him along like a puppy. We saw the Firelord/Spidey tussle and most recently Black Panther gets Surfer in a Arm lock? Really? A fricking armlock? Surfer looked worried too. Any wrestling jobber can get out of those. But not the Surfer. What do you guys say?

It's not a new trend. Writers do it to make their main character look cooler by having them do something like that. For instance when Hal Jordan came back he sucker punched Batman because he was apparently offended by Batman not trusting him. I don't blame Batman for being paranoid of a man who murdered thousands of people. [spoiler]On a side note I still don't like that whole "The yellow entity made me do it" excuse. [/spoiler]

Another whipping boy in Marvel Universe is Taskmaster. A guy who single handedly fought the Avengers and stood his ground is now being taken down by light weight heroes left and right. It's ridiculous and they always portray him as some sort of whiney villain when they do this. Only time Taskmaster gets any real representation in the Marvel U is in a Deadpool comic.

Didn't Deadpool beat up Taskmaster while he (Deadpool) was handcuffed recently?

actually the point taskmaster made in that issue was that he delivered a killing blow within the first few minutes,  then played up Deadpool's insanity and off-the-wall antics to dissuade any future employers from Deasdpool's services.

.... but then yeah, he conceded that Deadpool really is a good merc.

I didn't see any of that, but I agree... it's ridiculous.

Sentry has been criticized as being overpowered, so I can see him breaking Terrax's axe whether that's realistic or not.  My guess is that's not real permanent.

Spidey fighting Firelord.  Again not terribly realistic, but hey, Spidey fights everybody else, right?

The Surfer in an armlock.  Really, if he was worried about anything it would be not wanting to hurt Black Panther.
