i did it.  i used ink's parts, and made simple keyframe sequences.  some of them are ok, but hopefully ips will make better ones.
i hid a single sword in there, but the clipping is bad with it.
also needs a skin.http://beardlair.com/spiral.zip

You have no idea how long I have been waiting for someone to take up the challenge of everyone's favorite six-armed woman.

Excellent!!

Looking good Bil.
Nice work.

The helmet looks Great

Sweet! Finally! After all these years of waiting! Thanks, Dude! Should only be a matter of time before someone skins that puppy.

Yeah, and upon closer *squints at screen* inspection, I see that Ink's Magik_Demon still holds it's own.  It's been used for Voodoo from wildcats, etc, and is one of MY personal favorites.  Sorry, didn't mean to yell, just too tired to activate italics feature.  *snore*  :banghead:  Or is yours from Cybernary?    Oh, well, they were a great deal alike, and both beautiful meshes.  Kudos, BiL.

i'm not really sure what you are talking about.
i got a max file from ips that had all the parts.  i physiqued the arms and did some basic animation.  then i uvw'ed the arms and helmet onto the law skin.
physiquing was harder to do than i let on.  i had to clone the bones and tediously animate the arms.

Well if my links weren't crashed, I'd show the image of my Annex Skope.  She is basically Ink's Magik_Demon Mesh with some modifications and a few parts skoped from Lilandra_Armor.  It's the hair and the boot fur that made me think of it....

most meshers reused their own parts when making meshes. it saves time if you need to use parts which you already created for some other character. ink did this regularly aswell. bearded essentially fixed ink's spiral mesh from 3 years ago. it was not in a releasable state until BIL got to it.

either way, it looks great!

Protomorph

This mesh looks great, BIL. A Long time in coming!

And a note for Peerless, this is not a NIFskoped mesh.

It is great, and especially because they did it the hard way.  I was only pointing out the similarities in the pieces to the other meshes.  I wish I had the talent to build from scratch...but alas...Hacks like me who can't use Max files need to use Nif Skope (no insult intended to any1 else).  I have found that skoping has severe limitations though. A lot of pieces just can't be solidly attached with it, and they float around during animations.  At least building from the ground up, 1 can incorporate what they need and ensure that it all works.  Perhaps 1 day  ...

Oh, trust me, having Max does not automatically make you not a hack.  I can't do anything beyond bevels and minor mesh pieces and I've been using Max for a few months

yell0w_lantern

If you can bevel and push vertices around on a primitive then you can make anything.
Animating, though, is a different beast all together.

bearded

i am most definetly a hack.  but i do like animating best, not that i'm very good at it.  it's the modelling things i have trouble with.  my creativity doesn't mesh well with it.  i don't even know what bevelling is.
the funny thing about animating, for me, is if you do it right so it looks very real, it's hard to tell.  if it looks natural, then it's easy to overlook it.
a word on the swords.  the only way i can think to stop the clipping, so she isn't cutting her legs and other parts off, is if i extend the swords directly from her forearms, instead of at an angle.  would that look ok?

Protomorph

I was lookng at a couple of Irrational meshes the other day (70's Eve and a few others), and noticed they have an AWFUL lot of mesh clipping with weaponry. If it's not TOO bad, it's probably forgiveable to have a little bit of it.

Intensity

she looks amazing!

I was really surprised... I actually thought you made a 'spiral graph' mesh item... for characters to throw at eachother or something random like that.

great work :D!

ink

cool to see her released....she was easily modeled but phsyquie at the time was way over my head.  good work you two

AfghanAnt

Any way we can get a wireframe for Spiral?

I'm pretty sure you can make wire frames using nifskope.

ow_tiobe_sb

At the risk of making this post in the wrong place, I would like to ask if someone who downloaded this mesh before beardlair.com expired would mind sending me a copy.  Please PM for e-mail address.  Alternatively, if it is hosted elsewhere, please direct me to it.  Thanks! :)

Same question as ow_tiobe_sb...where can I get this mesh?

I have this mesh, but I think I already converted for FFV3R if that will cause a problem.   If anybody needs it let me know.  ( it doesnt have a skin and I think it was a work in progress)

megansunfire

I have this mesh. I found it in one of Beardedinlair's yahoo groups. Although, it didn't come with any keyframes. Are there any for it? I've tried several different ones and they don't work.

I also wonder, does reflect and glow work with this mesh, because I'm working on a spiral skin, but reflect and glow don't seem to work. (FYI: Yes I created .tga for reflect and glow)

Anyhoo, here's a little preview of the skin.

USAgent

I have the keyframes for this mesh which I can send you.

laughing paradox

What great work.

I can't wait to get my hands on a completed Spiral.

megansunfire

USAgent - I just pm'd my email address if you could send it to me.

I'll release the skin as soon as I touch up some things. (If there isn't any reflect or glow for the mesh, I'll definitely have to do some detail to the helmet.)

Reflect and glow can be added in nifskope, there's a tutorial for it or I'm sure someone could help you out.
