For some reason the idea of having an ongoing thread to help me with stuff appeals to me.

Today's topic: Karima Shapandar the Omega Sentinel

What I'm looking for are suggestion on meshes or more likely mesh pieces to skope for an eventual skin. Karima has two distinct modes, the normal one, and the masked version.

It's the hair I particularly interested in at this point, though the weapons on the masked version are also a major concern.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

For normal mode I would use Ink's Shiva's hair and add pieces on for masked hair I would use Ink's ponytails for one of his meshes, increase the size and reposition them. I hope that helps. Oh and you could use Ink's Jayna's bangs for both.

Cool, thanks AA. Never would have thought of Shiva or Jayna, I'll give them a try.

also if you wanted arms that turned into gun i would use the engineer mesh.

I couldn't remember if it had transforming guns or not, but yeah I was going to check it out.

Actually, for the big jet engine looking gun, maybe (Vertex's) Bobby69 or the Cyborg (golden skin) mesh.  The hand becomes a cylindrical gun, and if you shorten up the length, and put on one of your fine skins, it would look just right.

Yeah I was thinking about the Cyborg gun. Haven't had time yet to start work on it yet, hopefully soon.

Well, I'm sure it will be fantastic.  I would be happy to offer an alternate skope if you so desire.  It would give me practice at the very least.  Not to mention direct association with one of the community greats.  ( :o , did I  :drool: there?  :lol:)

Peerless, I'd let you work on the skope for me, but you're still new to the whole skoping thing, and I can be quite particular about what I want, so there's a decent chance I wouldn't end up using, or at least heavily modifying, what you made me so I don't want to waste your time if that happened.

However, if you're willing to take that risk and don't mind putting in the time, then sure I'd love to see what you come up with. Up to you.

My own fussiness is what drew me to your work in the first place.  Your attention to detail is almost psychotic.  Actually, I am more than willing to spend some time on it, I will try to get you something by Mon or Tue of next week.  I also expect that it may be greatly altered from what I come up with, but like I said...the practice alone is worth it.  Plus, if you decide to use any of what I puzzle together or even if  mine reminds you of something else you can use...nobody loses anyway.  So I would consider the whole thing a tiny slice of happiness.

You weren't kidding Pod.  This is a tough 1.  I had a really cool idea for her boots (gotta find those X-Men issues with her in them), but even though that piece attaches nicely, the hair pieces wander a bit when animated.  Now if I can just think of someone with the holey studs, or whatever you call them...back to work (well, actually, back to having fun).  Wish I hadn't lost my Shiva in the last great crash, but I'll make do.  You can always fix the hair later...

Hmm, are you pasting the hair to the head node? Remember to delete the niskininstance too, it shouldn't 'float' if so.

Yeah it drove me nuts when I first started.

I need a jacket like this:



So long sleeves, open jacket, and a small collar going up.

Actually the new vxBrainwave eeevil (perhaps too many e's there), has something like that with an interesting invisible upper torso.  It's at the new vertex yahoogroups posted by avalon I believe.  I have 1 too, if that's easier...oops actually it's a v-neck  :doh:, but the collar is a separate piece...

Pod, I am still working on Shapandar.  I actually found full body images (in the comics I thought I'd lost).  Was confused on her boots.  Actually, where can 1 get the Engineer mesh?  I have been searching all over the web :wacko:, but can't find it  :banghead:...(sort of a help Peerless help pod deal here)...got some great ideas for my own stuff while working on this, so like I said before...the effort has not been wasted...

btw...your pointer on skin instance was my entire problem with the avatar skope...thanks so much for helping me fix him

Actually I have no idea where the Engineer mesh is. I'm not even sure if I have it...

Pod, if you're still looking for a jacket mesh, you could try Beyonder's Volt mesh. (I think male_jacket_fx was what it was called)

use the jacket from syns red hood, its maped just like a male_basic torso

hmm another good idea. This is all dependent on me having a handgun available, either as part of the mesh or through skoping. Cyclops uses a gun now for some reason. But he only shoots things that arent' there....or someting...I didn't actually read it so I don't really know for sure...

Its things that dont exist

Anyway we have a winner! Took a look at Red Hood and it's got the gun, it's got a jacket that mostly resembles Scott's, and it's even got a cool looking knife...not that Cyclops would you know use such a thing...
I just got to make sure I can get rid of the hood/helmet and it's good to go!

Plus, you could use this hex for the current Charles Xavier as well... since he now often uses a gun (when his psychic powers are useless) and wears the X-Jacket as well (at least he did before he went into space with his team).

Yeah it would work well for Charles, Crimsonquill. I might look into that one day. I am a fan of Charles with working legs.

So I'm looking for a mesh with or mesh parts of an oversized arm, forearm if I'm looking at it right, and hooked spikes.

Aditionally I'm looking for a cone for the spikes on Anole's head. I'll need pointed ears too, but I know where to find them.

i like his new look! enlarging the forearm should be easy enough,  just adjust the properties of the forearm bip.
the beastman mesh has some pretty good hooked spikes, i think they'd fit.  and im sure theres cones on a tommy boy versatile,  or you could use the head cones from the classic loki mesh by fusion.

I have feeling that new arm of Anole's is just the beginning of what's happening to him. I'm pretty excited about his devolpment, they are really handling it the best way....slow and steady.
