2 fold Ctool2 question

Okay, so here I go again...got all the tools installed, but it won't let me import or export anything to view in CTool2. The converter seems to work now, and I have a DDS converter that also works most of the time, but CTOOL2 is a no go.
I haven't done this since before I got my new PC, and I wondered if anyone can help me?  I currently can't view any animations with  :ffvstr: meshes, skoped or not, and it would be very helpful if I could.  Also:  The NifViewer seems to indicate that it can load animations, but it never does.  Is this normal?
