Glitch Girl

This is the Out of Character thread for the Play-by-Post D&D: The Beginning game.  Use it to kibitz, ask questions, make bad jokes, and generally hang out outside of the game.

Since I have not heard from Gremlin but from all of the previous players, I'd like to request your character sheets and backgrounds PMed to me ASAP.  That will give me a better idea about who and what I'm working with.  First new post will be Monday and I also hope to get the action moving ASAP.

I am debating about writing Anya out of the story somehow.  Running the game and one of the major characters offers a huge tempation to either a) have her be the problem solver or b) dumb her down so she doesn't overshadow everyone else.  If I were to write her out, this may open a slot for someone who wasn't previously able to participate, but this is up to you guys.

Wish us luck...  :)

Glitch Girl

I've gotten only one character sheet so far.  Send 'em in guys!

Reepicheep

I would like it if you could write my character (what was his name?) out of the story as well. Don't have the creativity to get involved in something like this again. If you wanna use him as an NPC, that would be fine.

Have fun!!!!

Panther_Gunn

ACK!  No cleric, and a boatload of undead downstairs.  We're gonna die!

[cuban bandleader]Oh, Lucy![/cuban bandleader]

Lord Elcorion

car going bleach-fooey and various other issues have kept me away over the weekend, but i'm back now. i'll PM my c-sheet to ya shortly GG ((once i actually roll up my stats.. never did get a decent chance to do that   :P  ))

Glitch Girl

Got both your writeups guys, that's two down, and Reep's character has become my puppet (mwhahahah!!! ahem), that leaves Benton and konbiz.

BlueBard

Heh... if I weren't already prepping to run my own game I might be tempted to throw my hat into the ring.

Have fun, though!

konbiz

sorry its been a busy few days, ill try and sort something out soon.

Glitch Girl

Well, it looks like Reep shall be played by someone OTHER than the GM.  We're finishing up character creation but hopefuly there'll be another body running around soon.

FYI I'm holding off posting just a bit to see if I can get any more responses from the players.

Have ya tried hittin' 'em with a stick?  It's quite a motivator.

Lord Elcorion

*sings* where there's a whip *crack* there's a way! where there's a whip *crack* there's a way!
i don't wanna go to war today *crack* but the Dark Lord says, 'Nay Nay Nay!' *crack*
where there's a whip there's a way! *crack*

((points to the first person who can correctly identify the source of the song))

The animated version of Return of the King by Bakshi.  :D

About the ONLY thing I remember from that film too.

feh......you only posted before I did because you were on sooner.  :P

And what about "Frodo, of the 9 fingers"?

Uncle Yuan

Appearing as understudy to Reepicheep this evening will be Uncle Yuan playing the part of Orloid, Cleric Extraodinairre!

"Thank you, thank you!  I'm happy to be here.  Man, what a great looking crowd!  Hey, let's hear it for the Posting Games!  Can they put on a great show or what?"

Glitch Girl

[the GM orders something strong.  She has a feeling she's going to need it]  ;)

Out of game, I have completely lost track of where certain things are, even after reading through the previous posts so I may be a little rough on placement initially.   Shouldn't last too much longer though.

BTW: The rest of you guys, feel free to post.  I know I'm not here much on weekends, but I will try to stop by and at least check in.  It's hard restarting momentum once a game stops, but I sure as heck am going to try.

Glitch Girl

BTW: Benton and Konbiz, if either of you have any questions for me, let me know.   I still need you character sheets.  Please PM them to me ASAP.

Og:
The stump is about two feet long of iron armored forearm.  It's hollow inside beneath about 2 inches of metal casing but still very solid and would really hurt if it hit something soft. like the average skull.  The fingers are still twitching though.

So, it's a very short club.  Without much reach.  Who knows, maybe I'm just grasping at straws with this.  ;)

Lord Elcorion

two feet isn't that bad.. a long sword is only about three

Glitch Girl

The again, this is GIANT OG.

At least, it is for the next few minutes or so.  ;)

BTW: I saw Benton made a brief appearance, bit I haven't heard form Konbiz in days.  Any idea what happened to him too?

Glitch Girl

[sigh] Okay, it looks like this resurrection isn't working so hot...

So how about a reincarnation?

Instead of trying to pick up where Gremlin left off, I can start over, you can keep your characters, maybe add a few new ones for the people who aren't coming back, and I start over from scratch.

Yes, no, maybe so?

Uncle Yuan

I'd go for it - I'd probably even keep Orloid! :P

Viking

A shame to see something die out so early...

I'd certainly join as a player.

Glitch Girl

Would love to have you Viking.  I'll see about laying out some ground rules in here if I get a few more reliable takers.

Lord Elcorion

i'd go for a restart.. wasn't too thrilled by the prospect of running a guantlet right off the bat with just a potato sack and some stolen pointy sticks

Glitch Girl

That's three.  If I hear from one more, we'll see about getting some characters together.

hmmmm.....I guess that makes me the holdout.

If it gets the game moving again, I'd be able to readjust to a new beginning.  I'll admit, it felt a little daunting to start out this way, with all paths looking deadly, and a dearth of equipment at our disposal.

Uncle Yuan

aaaaand you all think GG's reboot will put us in better circumstances?

Glitch Girl

 mwhahaha!!

Seriously though, I can try to keep things going, but considering that a)we seem to have lost half our players b)there's virtually no momentum right now c)it will be hard to replace players at least for a while until I get you guys to another area and d)I'm building on a GM's style that is not my own...

Well, a reboot might be good.  I'd want people who are willing to put a little time into it and try to stick it out and are willing to give me a little warning or note if they won't be able to post for a while.

Good Lord, man... then why are you playing in the Paranoia game, of all places?
