How do you turn on the wigs in vx meshes?

I downloaded the Captain Atom pack, the one that comes with two hexed nifs, one for Captain Marvel69 and vxmale_v2. For some reason, the Captain Marvel nif only shows up as a white figure, and selecting the appropriate skin doesn't do a thing. I copied them over to CM69, and the skins really look nice, except that they all seem to have wrist bands.
When I tried to view the vxmale versions, they all appear to have severe male pattern baldness. I've tried to use Nifscope to unhide the wigs, but the only one I can find an editiable mesh of looks like it belonged to Frankenstien's monster. I opened one of the wig files up and created an alpha channel selecting the wig and saved it back with the channel active.

I've really just been shooting in the dark hoping to hit on the right answer, but that seems to be getting me nowhere.

Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

For the skin showing up white, double-check to make sure that the refl, glow, and lightmap files are all there. If any of them are missing, try copying over ones from other skins.

On the VX_male, it looks like the wigs are attached to the Bip01 Head node, so you'll have to go digging around in the Bip01 branch to find them.
