Hasbro will be releasing in the future (at least this is what cooltoyreview.com says) 2 Hulk Marvel Legends waves, with one Build-A-Figure ecompassing the two waves. The rumored Build-A-Figure is none other than the triple F himself, Fin Fang Foom!

Each wave will have 6 figures each, full story here -> http://www.cooltoyreview.com/story/front/The_411_Marvel_Legends_The_Hulk_Waves_107071.asp

For those who can't (or are too lazy to) click that, the first 6 rundown like this;

Absorbing Man
Bi-Beast (Bi-Beast!)
Grey Hulk (early 300's version of Hulk where he reverted back to grey)
Classic She-Hulk (Shulkie in her classic torn white shirt thing)
Hulk: The End (with 'I've been gnawed on' goodness!)
Wendigo (and no, the white Sasquatch figure from toybiz is NOT good enough.)

As for the other 6, they had this to say; "a couple of kings, a son, green hair, or a hot Defender...
"

Mods, if theres a better area for this, feel free to move it, as I didn't see one. :D

MJB

Collecting 2 waves of figures to make 1 "BAF"? That is insane.

I doubt that Fing Fang Foom's proportions will be bigger than what has come to pass. Even if it is I seriously doubt that the "BAF" is worth the $$ it will take to build it. At Hasbro's current prices each figure costs about $10 (us). This puts Fing Fang Foom at a whopping $120. Not worth it IMO.

Never know, each individual BAF piece could be so huge that he'll be proportioned well enough, I know I'll still end up snagging them all. I mean, c'mon. Bi-Beast. And 6 more figures unannounced. Its possible we might get some civvies, its already been said theres going to be a ML Spidey wave with civvies in it, so theres a chance of General Ross, and there better be a Rick Jones.

Oh yeah, and to add to Gdays' comment..

.....but...but....FOOM!

I'm probably the biggest Hulk fan on these forums. I'm a huge fan but I also have other responsibilities. Putting out $120+ on toys aint gonna happen.

There were different ways I've seen people do it depending on their intentions.  Some can justify $120 for 10 figs + BAF.  I cannot.  I can barely get one or two figs.  Some buy all the figs for the BAF, then turn around and ebay the loose figs so the recoup some cost.  Others who don't care for the BAF (like myself) can either buy the figs loose (but mint) via ebay, wait for KBtoys to put them on sale, or buy some figs and ebay the Foom parts.  Last time I did that, I got $5.00 for a Galactus arm.  It made my $5.99 Hulk fig (on sale at KB) even cheaper. :)  If you're like me, and only buy the ones you like, reselling the BAF parts works out nice.  I just bought 2 psylocke figs (Mojo series) from KB for $3.75 ea.  I'll probably list the Mojo bit.
I consider myself a big Hulk fan.  Would I buy 10 figs to get the set? No.  Like you, MJB, I have other priorities.

cmdrkoenig67

I will purchasing the Wendigo (Wen-Di-Go!  Whoo-Hooo!!) only...So that will save me some bucks.

I'd still like to put together the Sentinel. The one leg I have is lonely. There's only so much comfort that can be provided by the single Galactus leg and Mojo gut that I have.

Zagnut Boy

Well, here are some pics of even more Legends to put a drain on our wallets...

Spidey 3 Legends Wave
Perhaps in this case, it should be "more Legends to take up room on the shelf with all the other Spider-Man 3 toys that didn't sell."

But then comes the Fantastic Four Legends Wave
I actually like all the figures in this set. Not sure why they went with Ronan as the build-a-figure, though. I didn't think he was much bigger than your average sized super-being.

And last is the Marvel Legends Wave 4
These look like a mixed bag. But at least I don't have to worry about succumbing to temptation and buying figures I don't like just for the build-a-figure pieces...the BAF in this set is rather unappealing.

QuoteI'd still like to put together the Sentinel. The one leg I have is lonely. There's only so much comfort that can be provided by the single Galactus leg and Mojo gut that I have.
Hasbro does have a Sentinel figure, Apocalypse figure, Galactus figure, and even a Giant-Man for those of us on a budget.  And gosh darn adorable to boot! :D

The Pwime

That smile on Galactus is hilarious.  Such a cheerful guy, eating our planet and whatnot.  :D

As for the Spidey 3 Legends...I...I actually wanted EXACTLY that.  I saw the crap that was the spidey-3 toys, and I thought "damn, I hope they throw a few of the movie characters into an ML line on day, to make up for this."

And they did.

But Venom is still purple...and it looks like they re-used a few head sculpts. =/

gdaybloke

I will sell my left pinkie toe to get my hands on that Ronan...

Those look pretty underwhelming, although the Sandman BAF looks a little interesting (it all depends on how big it is, though, and going by the recent trand, it'll be smaller than the old Toybiz ones). And I know it's really difficult to capture likenesses at the scale they're working in, but man, Mary Jane looks more like Helen Hunt than Kirsten Dunst (they managed to get the cleavage right, though )

Hasbro seems to be making smaller BAFs than the previous Toybiz ones. So far, they've made the Blob, Brood Queen, and Annihilus BAFs, all far smaller in scale than the Galactus, Sentinel, or even the Onslaught and Apocalypse BAFs. I wouldn't mind, normally, but it seem like Hasbro isn't just skimping on the bulk of the plastic, they're decidedly a step below Toybiz in terms of paint ops, as well (they seem to rely so much more on molding parts in their colours) in an attempt to cut costs and yet they sell for practically the same price as before.

The Tim Bradstreet Punisher looks decent, but then again, I'm a sucker for anything Punisher. I'm surprised they didn't go for Nova's current armoured look since they already have the more recent "Pussycat" Beast and the Jae Lee-designed Black Bolt in there.

And in case you were wondering what the old Toybiz people are doing, they're still making comic-book related toys in the same Marvel Legends style that they popularized, except they're using creator-owned and independent comics licenses. Here's Conan and Wrarrl and they've got Ripclaw, Savage Dragon, Judge Dredd, Witchblade, Erik Larsen's Superpatriot, Jason Pearson's Body Bags, and a Pitt BAF(!) down the line.

Flying_Infant

Heh. Knew I forgot to post all that somewhere. *smacks forehead*

My 2 cents;

Spidey 3 Wave: Blah. I'll get MJ (maybe an extra for fodder)

F4 Wave: *drools*

ML 4: Not drooling, but I'm still gonna try and "catch 'em all." That Punisher looks slick, and Nova has been called for for ages (though it seems he has permanent helmet head.) Black Bolt I've been wanting for years. So I'm happy-ish with it.

SuperHeroSquad: I've been addicted to these things. But how can you take Apocalypse seriously as a world conquerer when you just wanna pinch his widdle cheekies?

Other showings from Hasbro Marvel wise can be seen here.

2 Packs have Cable/Marvel Girl and Cannonball/Domino. Wal Mart Exclusive, they are.

Also returning is the Face-Off Series now as the Face-off/Team-Up, with shown, Punisher/Daredevil, BlackSpidey/Doc Ock, Beast/Cyclops. They all seem to be re-releases of older figures to me.

Also seen in Marvel Legends, is Black Queen, Variant on the Punisher, Variant on Daredevil, and a Rachael variant as well.

*rubs neck and fingers* wow posting all that was tedious.

Off The Marvel Path; Apparently Hasbro is doing Indiana Jones toys. Both 6 inch scale, and "Super Hero Squad" figures of Indy as well.

Mattel is ramping up with the new access to the entire DCU by (from what I read) finishing off DC Superheroes line and turning it into DC Classics.

All their showings can be seen here

First wave of the DCC toys will apparently be Etrigan, Red Tornado, Penguin, Orion, Batman, ; with the Build-A-Figure of Metamorpho.

Jesus, please tell me those are not the actual paint jobs for Etrigan, Reddy, and Bats.  *I* could paint those, and I make *no* boasts about my painting skills (other than they're usually clean & tight).  Those have got to be about the flattest paint jobs I've seen on any of these figures.....but, then again, I'm not a buyer/collector, either.

Flying_Infant

I'm pretty sure those are early figs/prototypes. You can see the white parts on some of them. The paint jobs and sculpting will be handled by the same folks who were doing the DC Superheroes line.

RE: the Indy figures

I'm sorry, but the Li'l Marion figure with the monkey is way beyond cute.  :D

RE: DC Figs

I'm thinking prototypes too, or early display previews.  So many paint chips around the joints... Still, those carves look very nice.

Oh yeah! Got to have that. It'll go great with way too cute Lil Cinnamon Bun Princess Leia sitting above my computer.

But hokey smokes, the Black Queen!  :D Hy :thumbup:dra Agent!  Bucky!!

Cool beans!

Anyone wanting to get the SDCC Exclusive Marvel Legends She-Hulk, Marvel Legends Stan Lee, or the GI Joe Pimp Daddy Destro, www.hasbrotoyshop.com has them up now.

Earlier we ventured into a foreign Wal-Mart. We usually go to the one closest to our home but we felt adventurous and went to the one 6 miles further up the road. Go us! :P

Anyway, after searching through the figure isle we came upon a display of "Legendary Comic Book Heroes". We found each and every figure from the first wave (including the variants) along with Judge Death (and variant) from wave two.

MJB_jr decided to use some of his money to buy the Savage Dragon fig. The figure is awesome and the build-a-fig piece is massive. Dragon came with Pitt's left leg, which is just a head shy of being as tall as he is!

The articulation on the fig is awesome, the paint apps are scarce but they are neat. In my opinion LCBH trumps the Hasbro Marvel Legends.

BTW if anyone out there has pieces to Pitt that they do not plan to use send me a PM. Our kids want to build the fig but have no interest in some of the characters in the set.

Flying_Infant

Curse you Meej!  I hope I'm able to get all of 'em. I'm very OC about getting toys, so I gotta. I totally want the Savage Dragon with the tanktop on though. He just looks odd to me w/o it.

Wave 3 was shown at SDCC. Savage Sword Conan, Mean Machine, Vanguard, Aphrodite IX and the Ice Giant from Conan will be the Build-A-Figure for this wave.

In GI Joe news, Sgt Slaughter now has a wrestling nemesis in Cobra, that will be available only at the 2007 JoeCon in Atlanta, Georgia; Rowdy Roddy Piper!

Star Wars news, theres lots to tell; Order 66 expanding to UK (though I don't know what that means), Comic 2-packs Wave 5 pics, Mighty Muggs Vinyl Figures, 30th Annv Wave 8 figs, Target Exclusive AT-RT Assault Squad Battle pack, and much more pictures of upcoming and new products!

And in DC Comics toys news,, we have news (and pics) of the 6" DC Superheroes Cyborg Superman, with news that its been pushed back to a later wave, info on McDonalds Legion of Superheroes Happy Meal, an interview with Ryan Mansour from Mattel, Behind the scenes on the upcoming Superman/Doomsday DVD, and pictures of those adorable DC Superfriends toys!

My thanks goes out to www.toynewsi.com for all this great news!

Oh yeah, and PP, we need to make sure and pester Gday for He-Mans autograph....I never realized he was famous. :D

RAZDAWG22

So my pup wants all the JLU/Jusctice League type figures.....any suggestions on a good and not to expensive way of finding them?

Pyroclasm

My local Wal-Mart has the Legendary Comic Heroes figures.  They had three of the variants.  Ghost-transparant Judge Death, Savage Dragon w/ tank and Superpatriot w/o mask and gun arm switched.  I almost bought the Super Patriot for a repaint project (my Plasmashock character used the Superpatriot mesh), but ended up choosing not to.  They are decent figures, but close inspection of many of them showed some manufacturing defects that made me a bit wary (i.e. hinges coming apart).  Hope yours turned out fine, Meej.

Night Dragon

Kinda on the same lines of what Raz was asking. I'm wanting to get Cait some of the "Super Hero Squad" type toys (I saw some Transformer ones that Daddy might have to get for himself too ) but even the local Wal-Mart doesn't have much save for the Star Wars ones.

Being kinda new to doing any sort of on-line shopping, what sites would you folks recommend? (I know Amazon and Wal-Mart.com, but I figure sites that are toy-specific would probably be cheaper.)

Toy specific sites tend to be more expensive.  Most cannot get orders in the quantities as Target, Wal-Mart or Amazon can, and as a result often charge higher than suggested retail.  The toy company's sites such as Hasbrotoyshop.com charge full retail plus shipping, unless you can manage a coupon code that gives you free shipping or some sort of discount.  Sometimes though, they do put their overstock on clearance and you get good deals that way.

Flying_Infant

Yeah, for the Superhero Squad figures, I'd go to www.hasbrotoyshop.com , and order straight from them, I figure you're paying about the same as you would for gas as you would in shipping. (at least I do.)

RAZDAWG22

I can find the Super Hero Squad figures pretty easily around here (Target for $4.99).  I could help anyone looking for them if they want.  The thing I can find are the DC JLU figures.....not a one, ok Superman but how many of those do you need.....

Flying_Infant

From Wizard World Chicago 2007; DC Classics Series 2.

This series will have Firestorm (Modern) with a classic variant
Aquaman (long hair/modern) with a classic variant
Black Manta
Harley Quinn (yay!)
Superman Red/Blue in a 50/50 pack (what? does that mean  2 pack?)
and the Build A Figure is......GRODD! (weeee!)

As for wave 3, it was said to "watch for a female character." Hints of Wonder Woman, mayhaps?

When asked if we'd see Hal Jordan or John Stewart, it was responded "Why not both? There are a lot of Green Lantern Corps characters."

Asked about box sets for various teams, like the Teen Titans, it was said; "No box sets, but you will see some Teen Titans."

Vehicles and playsets are in consideration

Online toy shpo presence like Hasbro has, but it would be more in line with the hot wheels "red line" club - not sure what that is though.

JLU:

Looking into playsets and vehicles, no new product debuting this summer, mattel has most eyes and hands on the DCU.

Mattel still very into the JLU line, commited to releasing new figures with a strong emphasis on collector market.

As for DC Superfriends, if you see Aquaman, GL, or Lex, BUY THEM. They're made in shorter numbers apparently. There will also be vehicles; Superman ground vehicle, Aquaman with sub, Batman with "my first batmobile", and a batwing.

Wave 2 will be Hawkman, Cyborg, and 2 decos of Bats - one blue, one red.

MJB

Those figs are pure awsomeness.

Superman Red/Blue in a 50/50 pack (what? does that mean  2 pack?)

Silly FI. 50/50 pack means that in every case there will be equal amounts of red and blue Supes.
