I installed it onto  :ffvstr: and I'm able to select it, but no animation or picture shows up.  :(

did you install it correctly and what game were you launching when you tried it (FFX, FFVTTR, a mod, etc.). You should probably describe what you did so it's easier for others to help ya.

ffx 3.2 is where I installed it like many others I have.  Most installed and show up as options and pictures when chosen.
The instruction I followed to the letter, like I did with instructions from many others that work, were as follows:

wicked_pisser beam attack

A nifty nif switch by Zapow!

* To install this fx, you must have the Freedom Force game editor and a semi-working knowledge of it.
*******************************

First off, open your Freedom Force Data folder - usually located here, C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force\Data\

Now, open the Freedom Force fx folder - usually located here, C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force\Data\Art\library\fx
Within this folder you will see 2 folders, _textures & generic.  (If you do not have these folders, create them)  We only need to worry about the generic folder for this, however.

Put the "wicked_pisser" folder into "C:\Program Files\Irrational Games\Freedom Force\Data\Art\library\fx\generic".

***************

Now, open the editor.

Select the FX tab.

****************

  1)  Select manowar_waterjet from the fx list on the left.

  2)  Rename it wicked_pisser on the FX details.

  3) In the Nif base you can type (or copy) library\fx\generic\wicked_pisser.

  4) In the Node attachment points change the start to pelvis, the core to pelvis.

  5) Hit Save

     - In the fx list there should now be wicked_pisser listed.

****************

Select the Sounds tab of the editor.

****************

  1) Find fx_manowar_waterjet_1 in the left hand menu.

  2) Change the name to fx_wicked_pisser_1.

  3) Now find fx_manowar_whirlpool_2 in the left hand menu.

  4) Change the name to fx_wicked_pisser_2.

  5) Hit New - it should now show up on the list

Once this is done click on the "Save" button below the menu to save the sounds.dat.

I was gonna post this yesterday, but I forgot or something. Anyway, the fx works fine in ffvttr. If no picture/animation shows up, that means there's an installing error for the most part (IE: cant find the fx folder).

I would personally skip

Quote1)  Select manowar_waterjet from the fx list on the left.

  2)  Rename it wicked_pisser on the FX details.

and just install it manually. Also, the fx (that I had) didn't come with a folder so make sure your folder name matches your nif base.

Sorry for asking such question but if FXs don't appear, do they have to be converted for FFvT3R with the nif converter, same as to be done with meshes or not at all?

fx dont need any converting because not much really changed in-between games involving fx. You can probably try it, but i doubt it'd give you any better results.

I'll try it that way, Prev, and see if I get any better results.

Thank you.  It works now.
