The one problem I have is that I wish the common costume wasn't in solid black... it becomes harder to distinguish Scarlett from Baroness and sort of takes away from Snake-Eyes' uniqueness.
Ha! We're on the same wavelength here.  I said similar earlier. ;)
If they're all commandos dressed in black, what makes Snake Eyes so special? (Besides the martial arts.)

GhostMachine

Duke, Ripcord and Scarlett are wearing variations of the same all-black outfit.

Any movie with Marlon Wayans in it automatically gets a -1 star to its rating. They should have left Ripcord white and put Stalker in.

I had to smile at the pics of Dennis Quaid as Hawk, because that's great casting.

I don't mind Storm Shadow being unmasked as much I dislike the fact that they gave the Baroness sunglasses instead of regular glasses.

Don't know if anyone has noticed or not, but Cover Girl's fatigues have "G.I. Joe" written into the camo at various angles.

I just hope that when they reveal some pics of Cobra Commander and Destro, that they're not wearing all black outfits (I know Destro's mask and Cobra Commander's faceplate (if they go with the helmeted look, that is) won't be black). Its fine if Destro wears black, as long as he has the red collar.

I'm now getting a message that the images were pulled.  Apparently "Exclusive" means "We got them from a shady source."  Did anyone manage to grab them before they did?  If you didn't actually save them, can you check if they are stored in your temporary internet files?  I wanted to do some digibashing, but could not download them at work.

the_ultimate_evil

sadly missed them and SHH has also put a no no on posting them

honestly like transformers i'm not a huge fan but if it does well  there is more chance of a he-man film

The pics are still up on this site (last time I checked, which was 2 minutes ago). Get thee to digibashing!

Pyroclasm

Excellent!  Downloaded what they had.  Gonna have to tweak them a bit to get them to what I wanted to see.  Anyways,  if anyone ever sees the high res versions that have been floating around, snag them!

the_ultimate_evil

huh underworld called they want there costume back

RTTingle

Ugh.

They're all wearing the same damn thing, 'cept for Hawk and Covergirl.  Damnit, Hawk is even wearing black leather instead of brown.  Why?  Covergirl looks more like Avril L. than Covergirl.  I'd thrall more about it, save for the fact at least she has a unique look.

And now that I can see Snake Eyes much clearer.... what the hell?!?!  Did they paint half his face and upper torso black?

Ugh.

Oh, btw.... another link to the pics.

Please Pryro... Digibash 'em.  Why they can't add just a little color like you did --- baffles me.

I've got to say, Pyro's version looks way better than the actual one.......kind of like when Superman Slumbers....err....I mean, Returns came out and someone colored his costume in brighter tones......

Anyway, I would have no problem with them putting the JOEs in combat fatigues like their original look, although I would prefer their classic togs, of course.

I really don't care for this generic special ops movie dren, though, and I REALLY have to say that he is SUCH a bad choice for Ripcord.......

You know, if they had made this movie 20 years ago, this guy would have been perfect to play Spirit:

http://chenzhen.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/billy-predator.jpg

And yeah.....in the clearer pics, Snakes looks....weird....why not just make his shirt black nylon like the rest?  Anyway, it's Ray Park, so I'm sure he'll still be awesome.......the one bright spot in this.

Did anyone else notice that Snake Eye's mask is actually a clear plastic with some lines painted on?  You can actually see the top of his face. :/
Oddly enough, although I am not fond of the way they look in these pictures, I will probably still be there premiere weekend like the geek that I am.

I'm sure I'm like the .00001% in this, but I hate that look.

I preferred my Snake Eyes more commando than ninja, especially with the hockey mask/glasses, sweater look and with sub machine guns over the ski mask/visor, ninja suit, and blades thing.

I'm just hoping some bit of him being a commando more than a ninja makes at least some appearance in the movie.  Would love to see the Indy/Swordsmen like scene that happened in the comics reappear in the flick --- him dispensing a ninja with a tossed hand grenade.

And here I thought I was the only one who preferred the original "commando with an Uzi and a satchel charge" look for Snake-Eyes. His second costume with the visor sort of struck me as a bit hokey and kind of started the trend of ridiculous themed "uniforms" in the character designs... I always had a good chuckle looking at Bazooka... I mean, who goes to a pitched gun battle wearing a bright red football jersey? And Quick-Kick, as much as I liked the somewhat sinister bent in the idea behind the character (he's basically an assassin, when you think about it, given that his job is "Silent Weapons"), looked like he walked right out of a clichéd Sho Kosugi movie with the whole barefoot and bare-chested look.

Pyroclasm

A fairly simple bash.  There were just some little nuances of this Baroness that bothered me-- her fake tan, pale lipstick, distinct lack of cobra symbols, and most importantly, no eyeglasses!  I "corrected" the aforementioned problems as well as some color correction to make her outfit and hair appear less brown & more black.

the_ultimate_evil

a whole lot better, but something still screams cos play at the con to me

Pyroclasm

I started a thread for my digibashes so I don't flood this thread.
http://freedomreborn.net/archive/index.php?topic=46753.0
Currently in that thread are Scarlett (4 different color schemes), Baroness, Duke (2 color schemes), Hawk & Stalker.

4-27-08: Added Tomax & Xamot

RTTingle

Lotsa' new stuff all over...

They seem to have a link to all the stuff out there pointing to each site with an exclusive GI Joe character.

Figure Fan

These photos look pretty cool, actually. Destro looks interesting, at least.

Pyroclasm

Three things that stand out:
1) Baroness has glasses!  No, not the shades from the costume tests, but actual glasses!
2) Storm Shadow has a mask!  No fancy white samurai.  But an actual ninja!
3) Where...the...frell...is...Destro's...mask!

Cobraaaaa!

BentonGrey

Destro without the mask........so.........not Destro?  At all?  That's unacceptable.  Storm Shadow looks like a cleaner, but I'd really have to see more of the costume before I could say anything.  He and Snake Eyes are going to look sort of unbalanced as they've gone for a (perhaps) too literal translation for the Silent Master, and something much more real world for Stormy.  He looks like the Reborn version a bit....which isn't necessarily a good thing.  Baroness looks alright, a pretty faithful translation, but I miss the big honkin' glasses. ;)  Ohh, and is it just me, or is Breaker......orange?

:EDIT: Does anyone else find it strange that Heavy Duty is on the roster as opposed to the vastly more well known and popular Road Block?  That's nearly as inexplicable as "Ripcord."

Hey Pyro, when it's all finished and on DVD, could you maybe fix the movie? Do your magic to it and make everything look more true to the source material?

Wish it were that easy.  Guess if I had one of those multimillion dollar CGI systems, I could.  Anyone have one lying around?

BentonGrey

Haha....whoops!  Hardly Freudian, I'd have called him Ryhming Block in that case........

I'm really trying to keep something resembling an open mind about this, but everything I see makes my skin crawl.  I love GI JOE more than just about any other comic series, and I can just see this turning into one humongous disaster....I mean, just look at that freakin' Starship Troopers armor Breaker is wearing!  Where's the realism, where's the military sensibilities, where's the mystique of the secret identities and such!?  We've got a mask-less Destro, we keep hearing that its an origin pic, so you just KNOW they are going to show CC's face........bah.

Mr. Hamrick

Regarding Destro:

Read the description on the website where the pic is actually featured.  It mentioned his mask as something that he will don on the battlefield in the course of the movie.  While not entirely accurate, it's better than no mask at all.

catwhowalksbyhimself

But Destro never is without the mask.  Having him maskless just seems. . . wrong somehow.  The mask IS his face.  You wouldn't want to walk around without your face, now would you?

I've done it before.

As for Destro, I don't know that I agree that the "mask is his only face".  Masks are worn for a reason.  And if they are going with the reason specified in the GI Joes: Cobra Reborn comic then I am willing to accept that.  It makes more sense than the Dr. Doom fiasco from Fantastic Four any day.

the_ultimate_evil

anyone got the pics saved, a lot of the sites are going down due to heavy traffic

on destro sadly its the green goblin all over again, a non movable mask would be crap and movable one will just look bad

Channing Tatum's Website (Duke) lists Dwayne Johnson as one of the actors in Prague filming for G.I.Joe.  Anyone hear about the Rock playing a part in the movie?  I wonder who'd they have him playing?

Here is some footage of the filming of G.I.Joe in Prague:

Not very exciting, but it's kind of cool to see how some of these car stunts are done.  It'll be so different once you see it in the movie with all the cinematic elements.

Mmmm.. good question, might have to look that up...

Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) was also interviewed recently saying that he has a cameo apperance as a Joe too..

Interesting...

IMDB has Dwayne Johnson (as he likes to be known now) rumored as playing Shipwreck and Brendan Frasier as Gung Ho.  While i like both actors alright, i think it sounds backwards to me.  I remember shipwreck as a funny-man but not a realy tough guy relatively speaking, and Gung Ho as more...well....gung ho (sorry its early).
