Lightmaps?

I don't really care at the moment (I'm using a few random lightmaps I put together for upcoming skins) but just to put it down in writing... what is the feeling about using other's lightmaps? I have the lightmap packs, but there are a few that I've seen by C6 and others that work better in cetain situations. Can I use them, do I have to have to get permission, etc?

I'm not really stressed about an answer though, the one lightmap I am thinking about I've managed to semi-duplicate using one of my own bases (not exact of course, but it doesn't need to be, it's a lightmap), but I just wanted to put it out there rather then just make assumptions (because assumptions are evil, evil things)
