Original FF not running in XP even after 1.3 install

When I try to run FF under XP I am getting an immediate security issue closing the program, wit info about SP2 (which I assume is the issue that the patch was supposed to fix). Has anyone else had this problem despite having installed the patch? Any suggestions for fixing it?
