Hi,

I am learning and getting adicted to this  ^_^.

First questions:  :ffvstr: Campaign

1- How do i set, in an Alliance encounter, the allied hero to be controlled by me?

2- When i am at the base, i don´t see the hero i used on the 1st mission, he should be there no? how do I keep him?

3- When i press the briefing button nothing happens, it should play my briefing no? am i forgetting anything? I am just using the standard base.txt from the example so it should work no?

Many thanks to M25 for this great tool .

1.  The encounter type Joined By Hero will add any allies to your squad.

Encounter: Add Minute Man
Type: Joined By Hero
Allies: minute_man

2. You have to recruit the character sometime during the first mission.

Encounter: Bring in Minute Man
Type: Campaign Recruit
Allies: minute_man

3.  Go here (http://ezscript.wikispaces.com/Plug-ins) and grab the update to the standard ezscript campaign mission.

Thanks for replying  ^_^.

1- Is solved thank you.

2- I didn´t quite understood but not a big deal as i can twist it in a next mission.

3- After i installed the plugin when mission 1 ends i get a black screen but can hear the base scenario effects what did i do wrong?

One thing i don´t get it too is gaining prestige, isn´t this encounter ok so that it gives me an Objective and if i win the prestige?

[spoiler]Encounter: Save a civilian
Type: Save Civilian
Villains: thug_with_gun
Allies: civilian_male
Next: If Ally Survives: To be an Avenger
Next: If Ally Lost: Lose
Primary Objective: ´Helping a civilian´ for 1000 prestige and 100 xp

Alert Cutscene:
yellow arrow on Ally

Start Cutscene:
Remove arrow on Ally1
Ally1 turns to Hero1
Ally1 says, "Help me!"
Hero1 says, "Hang on!"

Enemies Down Cutscene:
Hero1 says, "Its ok now, the cops will take care of him."

Ally Thanks Hero Cutscene:
Cinematic camera on Ally1 to Hero1
Hero1 turns to Ally1
Ally1 turns to Hero1
Hero1 says, "Are you ok?"
Ally1 says, "Yes, thanks to you spider-man."
Hero1 says, "Did he robbed you?"
Ally1 says, "No, you were just in time."
Hero1 says, "You better go home now, these streets are nasty at night."
Ally1 says, "I will, thanks again."

Ally Lost Cutscene:
Camera on Hero1
Hero1 says, "Oh no! that poor guy is down, i´m a failure."

2.  When you play the first mission in a campaign, you don't actually have anyone on your team yet.  You have to recruit them onto the team using a special command.  To recruit a hero, use the Campaign Recruit encounter type, and put the hero you want to recruit as an ally.

3.  Try adding an Unfade command to your Base cutscene.  For example:

Encounter: Start
Type: Base

Start Cutscene:
Unfade
Camera on Hero

4.  You have to be very careful with the quotation marks or EZ script won't understand.  Use the plain text ones  that look like this ->  '

´Helping a civilian´
should be
'Helping a civilian'

So can i use the Campaign Recruit to spawn my first hero? i did it via the editor placing my starting hero manually.

I´ll test the others as soon as i get home, thank you  ;).

No, you still need to place your first hero on the map with the editor, but you ALSO have to use Campaign Recruit to make them available for future missions at the base.

GogglesPizanno

When you "recruit" a character in a mission, that character becomes available on the selection screen for future missions.

So for example, if you placed Minute Man on the map of your first mission as the playable character, and you wanted him to be usable in future missions, you would also have to Recruit him (as M25 said).

Then say at Mission 4 you wanted Tombstone and Alchemiss available to to be selected by the player as well.
That would mean in your script for mission 3 sometime (usually at the end), you would "recruit" Alchemiss and Tombstone, so that on the subsequent missions they would be available to be played. and so on and so forth...

A few more questions:

1. I´m still having problems with the mission briefing not doing anything when i press ´Briefing´ button. Note that i haven´t yet edited or added new lines to it, so it should just skip it.

2. The ´Primary Objective´ line is still not working, and i get no prestige too, maybe because the objective line is not updating.

3. And is it possible when fighting a villain to make a villain escape when it reaches say... 1/4 of his health so we meet him again on another encounter?

Thank you. :)

M25

1.  Make sure you have a markers called encounter1 and encounter2 on the map you are using for the base.

Post your ez script text and I'll look at it.

3.  You can do something like:

Encounter: The Battle
Type: Custom
Actions: villains fight heroes, villain stops at one quarter health
Villains: your_villain_here

End Cutscene:
Villain is revived
Camera on Villain
Villain says, "You are a worthy foe, but I'm afraid I can't stay."
Villain moves to far_away

To make this work you have to put a marker called far_away somewhere on the map.
