Marvel Kids - CGI Shorts

I'm not sure if you folks have heard about this but Marvel.com has branched off a For Kids Only version of their site. It's not really anything great to speak of.. BUT they have contracted the CGI animation team from the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game to produce shorts just for that site. So you get a 3-part mini-movie every month featuring one particular character and a few guest stars...

Janurary featured "The Adventures Of Iron Man" which guest starred Spider-Man and The Hulk...

Not too bad for their first project outside of a video game.. I can be happy with what looks like a cutscene from Marvel Alliance 2 every now and then. Can you?

I enjoyed that. All three heroes were portrayed very well. Very classic versions of all three.

Always been impressed with Blur Studios' work. Their cutscenes were some of the best parts of XML2 and MUA.

I always liked it when Hulk was portrayed as just a big dumb galoot. It definitely adds so much more to his character than when he's just a fairly articulate, incredibly strong ticked off guy.

now those were really cool. i'd be happy to pay ten bucks to see a feature length done by these guys. no need for characterization, or backstory, just classic heroes, portrayed perfectly, kicking butt.

Very cool....It's really too bad the comics aren't as good at portraying the characters in a classic, heroic, non-F'ed-up way. Oh well...

The game is pretty good, Pod.. If you never have played it before now I'm pretty surprised.. however if you just want to see the cut scenes from MUA then buy/rent a copy of the Doctor Strange animated feature because most of the scenes from that game are a special feature on that DVD (including scenes from X-Men Legends 2 as well).

So I'm hoping that these shorts become extras on all of their DVDs to come.. It would be nice for the Iron Man short to be available on the upcoming Next Avengers (aka Ultimate Avengers 3?) movie this Summer.

the cgi shorts are really good and I expected as much since the company that made them did wonders with MUA (which I wish had more cutscenes just to show off their work) and XML2.

Avengers next isn't related to ultimate avengers at all. The original name was Teen avengers making use of new characters based off of the older heroes (hey, sounds like young avengers, right?) while elderly tony and bruce play a mentor role. You can get more info from this video. Ultimates 3 and other marvel movies will come out later on down the line.

Blur's work is always pretty amazing. Check out Rockfish on their site, it's my favourite thing they've done.
