Imagine Captain America in the middle of a fierce fight. Suddenly, his noise starts to itch. He uses his well trained fingers to scratch it and no problem.

Iron Man in the same situation would have quite a problem. What can he do? Fire his repulsor beams? Has his armor cybernetic scratchers inside?

And what would do Doom in the same situation?

Elves live in their nostrils for this sort of situation.

My God! If that's true, that would explain why they can't use glasses! I've taken a quick look to my comics and I can't find a single drawing of Iron Man or Doom with glasses... You are right!

I think its environmental systems. The armor is built with an air vent that blasts a small stream of air at the entire nose at the push of a button.
