I hope that I can clear some time in my schedule to do more meshing and--*gasp*--releasing of said meshes for the next few months.  I must admit that, without the time to be creative, I find myself in a general funk (and I would like to apologise to others who may have been treated to my particular brand of overall depressors of late).  I should also apologise to those who might be waiting for an eternity for me to complete a project that I have agreed to do.  Frequently, I find it difficult to remain focused on so-called leisure activities (meshing is a labour of love, not leisure) between teaching, raising a young Bunburyist, attempting to be a good husband, dropping off/retrieving Prem's dry cleaning, etc.  'Tis no set of valid excuses, in the final analysis, for a person's word should be as stout as stout and just as easy to swallow.

I have restarted this thread with an attempt to be useful to modders in the community.  Here is my latest creation.  Can anyone identify it?

Incidentally, for reasons unknown to me, I tend to be more productive when I am filling a request.  Any modders who need custom meshes should PM me with requests.  Who knows?  You may get lucky (and I may become talented...some day).

I'll take a shot... Avengers Tower? Of course without Sentry's HQ stuck on the roof.

I know what Freud would say that is.
A confession?

Bingo! goes to Mr. Reborn.  If you want a Fantastic Car, send me reference pics. ;)

Don't let Doom find out or he'll launch it into space... a lot.

I see the definite resemblance to a bathtub. *snicker* That pic with Ben Grimm vs. Luke Cage made me chuckle.  Thanks.:)  I'll see what I can conjure, perhaps as early as this weekend.

P.S. Does anyone have a typical seating chart for the classic Fantastic Four (Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben)?  I'd like to include dummy bipeds that could be easily swapped by 'skopers for the actual Fantastic Four, or the provisional F4 with Storm and Black Panther, or your Aunt Fanny and the Three Biscuits, etc.

P.P.S. The Baxter Building is made to scale and mapped, but it lacks a skin. I hope to have it properly attired soon.  Would it be incomplete without a Willie Lumpkin mesh, or may I release it as is? ;)

Do you mean bipeds that the "male_basic, male_heavy, etc" will follow?
I'm pretty certain it can be done by copying the scene root and a little adjusting to the bones, I know, I did it so many times.
I can't wait till the baxter building gets finished.

Previsionary

seating arrangement really depends on which version you use, Typically, Reed is the head, Ben takes the center, and the siblings take the side (IIRC).

Silly Thor Reborn, couldn't find his own post. ;) :P

Willie Lumpkin has definitely got to be in it as an object standing outside. And it would be nice if C6 could put his magic on it and make him resemble Stan Lee who portrayed Willie in the Fan Four Movie!

Flying bathtub Typical seating: Reed front, Ben back, Sue lest (wedding ring side seat ;)), Johnny right - though I am sure it varies.

Long range fantasti-car seating varies as the side pods are detachable little jets. I'm pretty sure I've seen Sue riding shotgun with Reed.

Will you be able to hex it into Four Freedoms Plaza? That would be cool: http://www.marvel.com/universe/Four_Freedoms_Plaza

Also will you have the rocket launch tube as part of the building? http://www.marvel.com/universe/Baxter_Building

Just for fun, I hope someone can create a skin like this for it complete with little descriptive tags : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Baxterbuilding.jpeg

Nice work.

I always was more of a Four Freedoms Plaza dude myself! ^_^

Meshed, mapped, but not skinned.  Stay tuned (true believers!).

looking good, tiobe...yes, I was being redundant.

Many thanks for the kind words.  I wanted to post a comparison pic, lining up the Baxter Building and Four Freedoms Plaza to show the height differences (IIRC, Four Freedoms Plaza stands approximately 10-15 storeys higher than the Baxter Building--I suppose that, when the F4 rebuilt, they decided to build bigger.), but Photobucket is having issues at the moment.  I will post that pic a.s.a.p.

EDIT: Here is that comparison pic.

I still have much Boolean work to do on this mesh, but I hope its more salient features are visible at this time:

"much Boolean work" ? I hope you're not talking about Boolean modifiers in 3ds max. They're pure  evil! they generate tons of useless vertexes! Which are not suitable for video game performance
Nice unique work anyway  :P

Are any of these buildings destructible OTS?

Eventually, they will be. ;)

What he said. They also create "micro polygons" that are too small to see (never even make up a single pixel), waste processor resources, and so on for no effect.

Can't you just go to editable mesh and weld vertices at a low threshold?
