It's called (Apropriately enough) Superhero Movie.

Looks much funnier than the recent parody movie schlock (Date Movie, Epic Movie, The Comebacks, Meet The Spartans) because it actually has some talent behind it (the Zuckers).

Outcast

What a barrel of laughs! Can't wait to watch this movie.

Ha...has it occurred to anyone else that he looks a lot like Ambush Bug?

I saw the trailer, and unlike all the other movies you mentioned, this one might actually be worth seeing.

didn't the zuckers also work on 3 out of 5 "Scary movie" movies? If so...um...well...*clicks link*

Yeah, that was my point. The other movies I mentioned...mostly were prety bad.

And FWIW, I think I know one reason why. Most of the great Movie parody films tended to stick to the movies for their comedy source. Recently, many of them have been referring to celebritiy mishaps for many of the jokes, and they just aren't as funny. I'm watching a movie about movies, not about Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Leave the pop culture references at the door.

The entire Zucker Brothers team have not fully worked on a single parody film since Naked Gun ended. One or two members of the family have worked on rough drafts of a few parody scripts (i.e. Scary Movie 1 & 4) but without one of the brothers directing and producing then the quality of the jokes usually always fall flat about 75% of the time.

I have to admit that this parody actually looks really funny and a real high budget movie for a change as well...

Ha ha, the trailer actually had me laughing in my seat. Then again, it's pretty easy to get me to laugh (I've got a low physical comedy threshold). I wonder how well it'll compare to other superhero-themed comedies like Orgazmo, Mystery Men, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Superman Returns (oh wait... )

TheMarvell

so, uh, is it JUST parodying Spider-Man? Cus that's the ONLY superhero I saw the trailer spoof.

The trailer was amusing, but if the movie only mocks Spider-Man, I'll pass.

I am very opposed to spoof movies. Since there has not been a good one in a decade. But this actually looks good. I just hope it is not a matter of all the good jokes in the trailer and the rest is corny.

MJB

Heh, that looks good. I may have to see that one. :)

I always new that Drake and Josh from Nickelodeon would go on to bigger things.

I believe that the part with him stopping the truck from hitting the old lady was a reference to Fantastic Four.  My guess is that this will be like the original Scary Movie, with the main plot parodying one movie (Scream, in that case), but with plenty of references to other movies and the conventions of the genre in general.  Certainly better than throwing in random references to anything you can think of like in Date Movie/Epic Movie/Meet the Spartans, IMO.

Another link to find the trailer, which is apparently not available from myspace anymore:

While looking for the trailer, I stumbled across another superhero movie being called "Hancock" and starring Will Smith.

Probably won't be as funny, but the SFx look good and the "whale rescue" scene in the trailer is hysterical...
