The Nemesis

Hello!! finally I got round to finishing this animation!
Some of you might remember when I first announced I would do it, but I got way too busy.

So many people contribute to this community, be it through making models and skins, or just helping the new guys find stuff. I wanted to be able to contribute, but I cant model or skin, so here it is, and I hope everyone enjoys

Since it was just for fun some of it is shodilly done (I did all the voices, and I'm not American) but if I make another I'll try to improve some things (will there ever be time?) Anyway like I said, enjoy, and tell your friends!

Thanks to

Carravaggio
Renegade
JuanchoJik
Courtnall
Tommyboy
Grenadier
Vertex
And everyone else for making this a cool community

(If you made a model or skin in there and were left out, it's not on purpose, please tell me and I'll add your name).

WOW!  :popcorn wait... what?... That's all?.. Keep going, man! This could actually make Civil War interesting for those of us who kept wondering if making a CW themed mod would actually allow us to make that storyline turn out for the better.

Could you describe your process for producing this cutscene, or, if you have done so elsewhere, direct me to that thread?  In other words, what steps did you take, what tools did you use, etc.  I'm just curious about how this well done short came to fruition.  Thanks! :)

that was pretty awesome. Im glad you finished it.

It was actually pretty good stuff.  I was expecting from your description one of those cringingly bad voice works I see on Youtube sometime, but that was very much not the case here.

UnkoMan

Yeah, honestly, the voice work was pretty good. I've heard much much worse.

This just got me wondering... It's probably not possible, but wouldn't it be rad to be able to play .mov (or whatever) files in FF. Then you could get yourself some highly detailed animated cutscenes like this. That would be splendid. But... nevermind that.

The Nemesis

Thanks everyone. I'm really glad you all liked it.

It was the end of the page, hehe.

ow_tiobe_sb, I haven't written any such article, apart from my blog perhaps, although it's actually about my more general Machinima efforts.
If enough people think theres call for it I could show the community how they can make similar films within Freedom Force. I imagine a few user made movies would go down quite well, especially with the fan fiction lovers.

UnkoMan I agree, the ability to play video cutscenes in Freedom Force would have been great for this sort of thing.

When I get time I might do a page from Identity Crisis, but that could be a while away. Anyone who thinks they got a good Superman/Batman etc voice, please gimme a shout  ^_^.

I was just wondering if I missed another thread in these forums wherein you talked about your methods.  I seem to recall that you had another thread in which you requested scanned panels from the comic, and I was not sure if you had talked about your animation technique there.  I am particularly interested in how you animated the Captain America and Falcon meshes, given that many meshers (Vertex and, perhaps, Valandar (IIRC) being the notable exceptions) do not tend to include poseable jaws/mouths in their models (of course, I suppose you could have grafted head NIFs onto these meshes).  Consider me one of those individuals who would like to hear more about your workflow. :)

Podmark

Wow that was very cool. I have no idea how you made that.

Figure Fan

That was awesome!

How did you get the meshes to gesture like that? How did you animate their faces?

Very, very cool stuff.

Well honestly theres hardly ever more than a few people interested when I make stuff like this, so the few that have shown interest here is enough .

With any luck I will be able to do it sometime this week, (so that prolly means in the next few weeks) and I'll post it on these forums rather than my blog so u'll be sure to see it. In there I will prolly go into all the details.

And Figure Man and others, I'll show how the lipsynch was done, its actually very easy.
