Merge FFX3 and Patriot City

Anyone have a guide on how to merge the latest FFX with patriot city so I can use all the new powers and attributes in patriot city?

Interesting question.  Merging the .dats is simple enough, the question is how many/what changes were made in either the Skirmish or the Missions/Scripts folders.  Patriot City is a bit old, so the scripts may not work together.  Also, you have to be careful about overwriting your language files, because I think believe Patriot City uses talking heads (?).

If freeroam is your thing, you may want to take an hour or so and read up on EZ Script in the FFX3 manual.  It allows you to script freeroam/linear campaigns or just rumble room scenarios with little effort.

Basically I want the additional superpowers and attributes from FFX3 in patriot city, everything else can stay the same.

(As mentioned, you'll want to make a backup of your current patcity folder, in case this doesn't work.)

What I did after merging DATs is just copy over everything out of the ffx3\missions\scripts folder to the patcity\missions\scripts folder except the files starting with freeroam. I also have modified several of those files, but I am pretty sure that isn't necessary. In fact, you may be able to copy over all of the files from ffx3\missions\scripts, but at one point there was some conflict with 3.2 changes made to accommodate EZScript missions.

Obviously, you will want to make sure you add any new attributes to your patcity\lang\english\strings.txt file and regenerate the language files from FFEdit and then run the FFX Control Centre (changing the mod to patcity) and the Rumble Room Power ID Generator mission so that carrier attacks and state swaps work properly.
