The other day I was thinking about the FX i would want if I ever got my character Guardian Angel on a TV show.  I wanted an ethereal spirit of the character to fly out of his body and "jump" into the person hes was possesing.  I admit I suck at doing FX but if someone would give me some starting points I'd love to try this FX.  thanks

if you're talking about perhaps an astral form like: http://www.fxforce.com/INTENSITY/premonitionerastral.jpg

Then your best bet would probably be pming intensity or some such.

i believe this is done by taking a character.nif and renaming it core.nif,  then putting it into the FX folder
of course you would want to alpa out part of the mesh so it would look ephemeral.

now, what i remember is that most meshes are made with a standard idle pose,  but one mesher,  i forget who,  maybe 3dmaster or (crud i forget who) made a mesh called hyperman,  and his standard idle pose (without keyframes) is kind of like a flying pose, which would be perfect for making FX out of it.

so my advice: look for the hyperman mesh.

You might want to try the Free Spirit Attribute in FFX 3.2.2. It's based on Marvel's Brother Voodoo, whose body is host to his dead brother's spirit. With this attribute you can release the spirit and the spirit is already setup as an Astral-type charater (ethereal appearance, permanent pass-thru defence, and flight). Just setup a custom or built-in as the Spirit with the Possession power with a "flying melee" animation.
