Max is evil, as are it's exporters

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm meshing/skinning a new project from scratch and while things have been going well on the one hand (I've meshed out ALMOST all of what I've planned to, and I'm mostly just waiting on some instruction from another mesher) but when I attempted to export it so I could test out any possible kinks I ran into a slight snag... the Male_basic based segments (with the exception of ONE piece), which ran fine when exported before and are still fine in max, no longer export any physique data at all. Aside from a bit of vertex warping, I haven't messed with these at all, so the fact that they no longer export properly is just really bizzare to me.

I've had physique problems when exporting before, but it usually just screwed up the physique on one-bone items. This is eliminating that data, and it's very worrying.

You aren't providing enough detail.

What version of max? Which exporters? What exactly is occurring? When did the change happen? Do you save in iterations (i.e. moel_v_01. model_v_02, model_v_03?

Meh, sorry, it's late where I am and I wasn't thinking... I use 3ds Max 5, and the old FF exporters for 3ds max 4. As for when it happened... I had previously exported the base I was using because I was intending to move it over to your Superboy keys and I wanted to get the proportions on the mesh itself right rather then going in and skoping it (which I'd been able to do with another mesh during a random experiment). when I'd gotten it to fit properly, I made duplicates of the base mesh so I could add some clothing items as well as a variation of it with baggy pants.

Now, with the exception of the first piece I duplicated (a shirt coincidentally) none of the duplicated pieces want to physique. I've tried removing the physiquing in place and redoing it from scratch and reinstalling my exporters, but I still can't get those three pieces to physique.
