Hint of the thread:

FREEDOM FORCE -- a model for CO?

Way back in 2002, Irrational Games put out a super hero based tactical roleplaying game called Freedom Force (with a sequel in 2005) which took the work of Jack Kirby as an inspiration. Check it out at this website:

It is a fun game, and you can spend months gathering all the modded adventures, meshes, and skins available for it on the net. ask the freedom reborn people in the superteam forum for help getting it to run on your machine - they are the old Freedom Force mod community.

I want to be able to knock villains into oncoming traffic again!

 I just finished replying to that guy when he asked a question about getting the FF demo to run under Vista in the FR thread in the Superteam Recruits forum. I'll have to check out this other thread.

Seems like a lot of people in that thread are missing the point of it, or just being argumentative for the sake of having something to say :(

Champions Online was really cool, and I loved the look of the game, but when you got past the initial default intro, and started playing with custom people online... it really started to show how unbalanced it was. I mean I was playing with 12 year olds and 50 year olds and some of them were really annoying, while others didn't do anything. It was a good idea, but as you delved into it, all the different people and their playstyles really made the game unbalanced and one sided...  :P

Whoah!  Wait!  Dude, are you saying that there is CO is playable somewhere in some way, shape, or form???  Is there a demo or a beta or something out there????

I for one am itching to play it!

Alas No....
I was sarcastically mocking the arguments of above mentioned forum post where people were complaining about how one sided Freedom Force was when you tried to use any custom characters.
