Anybody use a wireless connection to play?

We recently switched our ISP to city-wide wireless.  I've heard that MMORPGs can be pretty frustrating over wireless connections.  Does anybody use them when playing CoX?

I had a lot of cut-out issues with mine. Sometimes all it takes is someone walking between you and the router to give you a split-second blip that sends you crashing to the login screen.

Very, very frustrating.

Mine has been and is played over a wireless connection, and I've never had any problems. *shrugs*

However, mine is just a household wireless network. By city-wide, do you mean one of those shared networks in your community? Or is that just the name of the product? If it's literally shared city-wide, then I'm not sure if it's good or not for playing an MMORPG.

Yeah, Minneapolis is in the tail end of installing a city-wide wireless network, with installed segments up-and-running.  The nearest hub in on the utility pole at the corner.  I have an antenna and signal booster for inside the house.

This isn't a black and white, yes/no question. This particular question has a bunch of variables you must consider. How far are you from the router and how many people are using the city wide router(s) as opposed to their own home service. How much traffic can it handle and what type of security and restrictions will it have? Does it have any other type of limits that could possibly hinder the game (IE: you can only use the router from this time to that time throughout the day). Most importantly of all, I suppose, is what type of routers they are setting up and what brand. So basically, you'll have to experiment for yourself for a total answer...but in general, playing a game via wireless internet isn't a problem.
