No idea where to post this... came across this interesting case mod for the PS3:

It's a hefty 16 lbs, but I think it's still pretty neat (also reminds me of the time when "desktop-replacement" laptops frequently weighed in between 12 and 14 lbs)... also considering that newer PS3's come pre-loaded with Linux, you can actually get away with bringing a game console to work and say you've got a business machine with you.

That looks awesome, but I've got to wonder how compressing a PS3 into a smaller space will effect it's heat management.

Isn't this the same guy who made the 360 laptop?

If it's anything like the XBox360 laptop he made, he's probably using a modified heatsink (same number of cooling fins as the stock, but curved/rounded to fit in the smaller case), although he hasn't posted the inner workings and details of the PS3 laptop. I have no idea how effective those are under extended playing conditions, though.

Yep. Same guy. The first project of his that had me following his case-mod work was when he made a portable Playstation... it was basically no bigger than a standard commercial DVD-9 case with a built-in screen, and with all the controls built into the case so it pretty much looked like an oversized Game Gear.
