Finally got Colonel Stryker to 40 last night, and.....

.....I still can't decide which patron to go with.

Colonel Stryker is a Mercs/Traps MM, and I've already ruled out picking Scirocco, but haven't been able to decide between the other three.

I don't really care about the defensive power each offers, because I already have Maneuvers, Force Field Generator, and Combat Jumping.

Or should I skip a patron altogether and pick up Serum, Tactics, Vengeance and something else instead?

I hear lots of people skip patrons all together. The only two I've tried were Scirocco and Ghost Widow. Those fit the concept for my toons.

Grab Black Scorpion, just for his shield. It'll stack nicely with FFG. With Scorpion shield, Manuevers and FFG all 3 slotted with def enhances, and combat jumping base slotted with one defense enhancement you're looking at:

43.5% S/L
36.4% energy
22.4% everything else

You're 1.5% from soft capping s/l, you've got higher defense to energy than SR can hit without IO's and you've got respectable defense to everything else. Add in a few IO bonuses and you can easily see 30 to all. Plus you get 17.5% resistance to toxic damage.

Hard to argue with those numbers eh?

Too late. Last night I decided to go with Captain Mako after checking Paragonwiki. Black Scorpion's shield is nice, but I don't care about the other powers he offers, as two of them are more or less just upgraded Web Grenades, while Mako's storyline sounds more interesting (I'm definitely going to need help when I go after the EB in the last mission - the EB in the first one drove me nuts!) and I may get everything except Spirit Shark Jaws. (Taking either Serum or (most likely) Tactics instead)

Now, I already know who I will go with on Doctor Corpse, if I ever get him high enough. (He's 27 or 28 right now) Ghost Widow. Doctor Corpse is Bots/Dark, so the powers she gives fit in with the concept.

If anyone who is higher level has any sk room, feel free to give me a yell when I'm on Colonel Stryker. Doing the ITF for xp isn't really an option due to the lag (I'd be next to useless on the last three missions, until the end of the last one), and I am about ready to respec out of Leaping because Super Jump has almost gotten me killed 3 times in Grandville. (I may head back to Nerva and St. Martial until I hit 41 after I clear the missions Stryker has at the moment) I really want to get to 50 so I can make a VEAT (Leaning toward Bane Spider or Night Widow - no interest at all in a Fortunata), soloing isn't going to cut it, and I've only had one really good pug recently.
