how enriched is your life partners life due to your influence?  doesn't count if you forced it on them and they didn't like it!
my own wife is now has full appreciation for:
1.  dr. who, the last 2 versions anyway.
2.  sandman, neil gaimen.
3.  watchmen, made her wonder why ppl didn't normally put on costumes and fight crime.
4.  shock treatment, the sequel to rocky horror picture show which she had seen before.

My gall is the type who dropped out of high school and ran with gangs. So yeah, it's weird that she ended up with a geek like me, but so far I've gotten her into the following:

1) Love and Rockets: seriosly the stories of tough and hawt latina americans might as well be her biography, right now she's finishing up the second Palomar trade.
2) Metal: oddly enough she's only into the really hard stuff and mostly ignores all the prog metal and orchestral stuff.
3) Geeky shows: This american life, Dead like Me, Pushing Daisies, 30 days, etc.
4) Genre movies such as Iron Man. I swear she even looks interested when I get into Tony Starks story or the conflicts of being Peter Parker.
5) She was already a Wii fangirl since she was a promoter for Nintendo for a while. Still I got her into the Sims 2 which she thinks is really cute and I love watching how people play the game, it gives you a lot of insight into them.

Carravaggio

My gal is now addicted the City of Heroes. She has a dozen mid to high level characters and she is still playing.
She now regularly reads Invincible and Walking Dead
She has watched and enjoyed all the recent Marvel movies from the last few years and now she is taking me to watch the hulk, not the other way round :)
Although she is terrified of Resident Evil 4, and she is determined to beat it. Not surprisingly she prefers playing as Ada.

My lady was always a geeky type, into some comics and Star Wars in a big big way.

That said, I did get my partner interested in other things, like computers, camping and other stuff.

Although I'm currently unattached, most of my previous girlfriends have always said that if there's one thing they took away from the relationship, it's a greater appreciation of music (well, the ones that I'm still on speaking terms with, anyway ). I don't know if they're any "cooler" now than before I met them, though.

I generally don't try to get them into animation, comics, or video games unless they're already into them, but musical common ground has to be there for the relationship to work for an extended period of time.

The Hitman

Comic, video game, and awesome music- wise... not much really, but only because she was as into the stuff as I was from the get- go. The Ladyfriend has developed a greater love of 1950's scifi films though, and I'm very proud of that.

My cat sometimes swats at the TV when playing GTA... I'd like to think thats my influence.
