EZscript help 4 a 100% noob ( ive read the guide though)

hi there im a noob and only just downloaded the latest ezscript but when i start the map there are no enemies and no red arrows. i followed the step by step to the t but still the same thing is happening. Any help would be appreatiated.

here is the script.


story: thugbusting

Encounter: Thug Brawl
Type: fight
Villains: thug_with_gun, thug_with_bat, thug_with_bat,

Alert Cutscene:
Red arrow on Villain

Start Cutscene:
Camera on Villain1
Villain1 turns to Hero
Villain1 says, "Hey boys, look what just dropped into our neck of the woods."
Villain2 turns to Hero
Villain 2 says, "Get 'em."

End Cutscene:
Cinematic camera on Hero
Hero1 says, "rahhhhhhhhhh."

is there something else i have to do after editing the skirmish file?

1) check your typos -- extra comma on villains, "Villain 2" vs. "Villain2"

2) check/post your script.log file (look in main FFVTTR folder...not your mod folder)

3) Make sure you do not copy/paste code from the manual ... it's not formatted properly

4) Make sure you are running your mod/ffx3 and not the default game (directions for formatting your shortcut are in the game FAQs thread)

Boalt92 pretty much covered it, but I'll add one thing:

EZ script doesn't recognize the quotation marks that come out of programs like Microsoft Word (or more precisely, python doesn't recognize them).  You must use plain text ones. 

For example:

"Get 'em."

should be

"Get 'em."
