51 Month Milestone: Tried and True

    * Tried and True Badge
    * City of Villains Pre-Order helmets

For the 51 month veteran reward, players receive the Tried and True badge and all of the City of Villains pre-order helmets as costume pieces.

There are 4 helmets the player will receive: Red Wolfspider Helm, Wolfspider Helm, Mu Mystic Helm, and the Crab Spider Helm.

54 Month Milestone: Allegiant

    * Allegiant badge
    * 1 power from the following - (Ghost Slaying Axe, Sands of Mu, Nemesis Staff, and Blackwand)

For the 54 month veteran reward, players receive the Allegiant badge and will be able to choose an additional power from either the 12 month reward (Sands of Mu and Ghostslaying Axe) or the 33 month reward (Nemesis Staff and Blackwand) that hasn't already been chosen.

The helmets are nice, if not long expected.

As for the weapons... getting to choose between what you've passed up already?  Underwhelming.  It would have been nice to see at least a new pool of temp. powers to choose from.

I'll take credits for them CoV pre-order helmets, you are all welcome :P

I did in fact wrote an email to Ex Libris suggesting that they should do somehting simple like that after we got the very lame 45th month veteran "no reward" :rolleyes: hehe

As for the choice of one more of the same powers, well it's nice I guess, gonna make for even more ubar lowbies.

I was hoping they would tie the pre-order helmets to the pre-order sprints. *sigh*

I saw this yesterday. Not really excited, personally.

I've never used my CoV pre-order helmet, anyway, so getting more doesn't interest me much.

The 54-month reward interests me even less. Although I certainly make use of my vet reward powers (when I'm playing, which I rarely do these days...) it's always bothered me that they take away from the character variety- if most of my characters have, say, a permanent Sands of Mu power, they "feel" less like individual, separate hero concepts, somehow. This is only going to add to that problem.

Oh, well... Hopefully, they'll have something worthwhile for the 5-year reward...

I always thought veteran powers would be best used as the occasional spiffy treat... and more often, commonly used powers.

Its a shame punches and kicks and things of the sort have to actually have to be picked and slotted - when for the most part, powers of that sort should be common.  Its pretty much the main reason why I picked up Sands of Mu --- I enjoy seeing my hero actually do some decent punching.  I think a karate chop would be an incredible idea for a veteran reward.

I really wish they'd make the bats & pistols veteran rewards.

You  can craft a baseball bat and a pistol for 10,000 inf or less as I recall, and they're not restricted to players who've been subscribed for 5+ years. :p

While the upcoming awards aren't the sorts of things that have me doing handsprings and cartwheels, I am nevertheless tolerably pleased by the offering.  Granting full access to the various helms is one step closer to being able to make pseudo-Arachnos costumes in slots other than the first VEAT costume slot.  Granting access to another, non-chosen power is a sorta nifty thing that certainly helps get past stretches in which there are few attacks to work with.

Yeah... I know, I got a few recipes for the pistols.  Just a shame with the limited use and all.  Closest I'll ever get to hero side pistols for some time.
