It's been a looooong time since I've been on and been messing with Freedom Force.  I just got the bug to do it and found the 2 (of 3 total) skins I actually did a decent job on.  I posted them on here a long time ago, but I doubt that anyone remembers them or me. Tell me what you think.  :D

SO, I figured I'd re-post them if anyone wanted them:

They can be found at my yahoo group:

(BTW, I originally posted this in releases, but I wanted responses.)

Very nice, interesting designs.
If you are interested in critique, I would say the hair on both is probably the weak spot. Especially the lighter haired guy on the left. You could put in a little detail there to suggest the texture of hair (unless I'm just missing it in the screen shots).
I know it 's overused, but I like to define costume edges and details with a touch of 'drop shadow'. Yours probably dont need this as they are nice and crisp, but it might be worth trying just to see if it helps or hinders.
I particularly like the green texture on the right hand guy, but the symmetry is slightly off on his glove details, unless that was a deliberate choice.
Overall, good stuff, on quite difficult costume choices (ie lots of detail, textures etc).
Let's see some more.

Oh, and welcome back.

Can't see the pics. :(

I can see the pics, and I'm not a member of his group, but I am signed into yahoo, and am a member of other groups.
But getting a photobucket or similar account is good advice nonetheless.

Rival

Ok, I fixed the links.. created a photobucket account for it. Thanks.

And thanks for the critique. That is what I was looking for. I knew the hair was a weakness.

I did these a few years ago when I was learning photoshop and first attempting skins. I haven't touched any of that since, so I have to relearn everything.
As far as symmetry on the hands of Biohazard, I THINK it was just the angle of the screenshot, but I will have to go back and check.  I am not familiar with drop shadow. I will try to experiment with that in the future.

Also, thanks for the welcome back.

Hmm, I went and looked at the files, the symmetry of Biohazard is off... And the colors are not the same as when I designed them.. I think these were previous saves and not the finalized versions. I guess I didn't save the finalized copies. I will have to fix these. Ugh.  Ah well.

Rival

As far as hair improvement, what is a good way to do that?

Haha, me too! I'm horrible at the hair! I have to study that tutorial like it's going to be on a final exam.

Nice designs, Rival. I particularly like the design of the first character and the way the yellow seems to be very reflective. The thing I've learned the most while skinning is to make sure you do a lot of blending with colors and experiment to see what comes out. Also, on the FR wiki, there's a great tutorial on highlights that really makes a skin pop.

Rival

Here is Rival after revising him some and trying to fix his hair.  Comments/Critiques? (Bear in mind that this is my first attempt at it. :)  )

He's already been uploaded to my yahoo group for download.

Nice job. A bit too much with the refl.tga for me, but great job nonetheless. Maybe take a look at some of the tutorials and get yourself some highlights to make him "POP" more.
