Need help from an x-universe fan please

Im starting to get back into the marvel x-universe after a 8 year fling with Japanese manga and wanted to catch up with the x-men etc. So can someone list in order what stories are worth/vital to check out since 2000?

I took alook in the x-men thread but i dont really want to see anymore spoilers then i already have  :angry:. At the moment i have House of M and Messiah Complex but im probley not goin to read them until i read a few stories that come before.

I found this list on wiki, is it accurate?

Notable story arcs of this decade are Revolution (2000), "Eve of Destruction", "E Is for Extinction" (2001), "Planet X", "Gifted" (2004), Here Comes Tomorrow, "X-Men: Phoenix - Endsong", "House of M", "Decimation" (2005), "Deadly Genesis" (2005-2006), "Endangered Species" (2007), "Messiah Complex" (2007-2008) and Divided We Stand (2008).

More or less...the books in-between those arcs are pretty important too. Divided we stand is still going on, as far as I know, but nothing important really happens in those books except "catch-up" from dangler storylines.

For current times, You'll definitely want to "browse" or find summaries to House of M and the Decimation. You'll then come to Messiah Complex (you can browse/read summaries to Beast's Endangered species) and then you'll be at Divided we stand/aftermath.

Going further in time, You'll need New X-men [Jean/Cyclops version] knowledge (at least the last 4 issues) to really understand Phoenix: Endsong. I'm not sure why that's listed as a big event as it wasn't addressed again until Phoenix: War song and that book was about Emma and the cuckoos and not addressed. Endsong is a good read, but not important to non Jean fans. Deadly Genesis is in a similar boat, but it does affect old continuity and everything after, so I guess you'd want to read it to find out who Cyke's brother is and what happened to Xavier and some brief Emma history. It's also the jump off point for a 12-part + mini story arc in Uncanny X-men known as "Rise and Fall of the Shiar Empire".

*sigh* Yeah, that list is mostly right and I just rambled a lot. :P

LOL thanks, i think ill start around the new x-men era then move forward and if i need to ill pick up any mini series along the way.  :thumbup:
