Anyone else play the demo for this from Xbox Live or PS Network? If you are a fan of the original NES game you gotta download the demo at the very least. It's really short but you find out real quick that this is a worthy re-imagining of the original.

o_O
I still own the original somewhere... i'll hook up my live and download in the morning methinks :)

MJB

Even if you still have it I would still recommend getting the game. Totally worth it.

I never played the original, so I decided to download the demo since the game has gotten a lot of hype. I was really impressed by it and purchased it. It's hard, but a lot of fun. I wish I could have experienced the original back in the day.

Bought this one as soon as it was available!  Loved the original NES version, and this is an excellent remake.  Used to play the original over and over, pretending I was spider-man...ah, the memories.   For those on the fence, you might want to try the demo as this game is all about the arm (i.e. no jumping) and using it creatively to get (pardon the expression) the upper hand on the enemy.  I still have my NES w/ Bionic Commando in my crawlspace--might have to dig it out to compare.

Great game, I picked it up as well.

Super Joe MUST BE RESCUED.

This game looks like it'd be quite fun. Lookit all these remakes of old games. Incredible!

Hey, rescue Super Joe, get Super Joe's machine gun!

MJB

Just like in the original, zone 7 is giving me troubles.

Level 7 requires the Vector Gun to open the door (if that's what's troubling you).  I found the shotgun helpful with the rest of the level.
It's in zone 9
I'm having way too much fun with this one!

MJB

Actually I was having trouble damaging the boss at the end of the level.

this game is seriously kick arse. Even the music is good, and for an arcade game, that's saying something since most of them are fairly forgettable. This is easily one of the best games on XBLA, and this is coming from someone who has never played the original version. However, it's obvious the game isn't for everyone as the controls are definitely different.
