Argentinian comic book artist and animator Carlos Meglia passed away August 15th, from an apparent heart attack. Most American readers probably know Meglia's work from comics such as SpyBoy, Adventures of Superman, and Elektra. Internationally, he is probably best known for his creation Cybersix, first published in Argentina as a black-and-white comic and eventually being published in Spain and later, translated into French and Italian. The comic book was later adapted by a joint Canadian-Japanese studio into a short-lived but critically acclaimed cartoon series that was initially broadcast on Canada's Teletoon network. His distinct, lively, animation-influenced style was a huge influence on younger, more popular artists such as Humberto Ramos, Roger Cruz, and Joe Madureira.

Prior to working full-time in comics illustration, Meglia worked as an animator on The Smurfs, Scooby-Doo, and The Flintstones.

He had some major talent there, I can also definitely see his influence in the works of Ramos and Madureira.  It's awful, he was quite young too...Rest in peace, Sir.

Maybe it did... there was a lot of overlap between YTV and Teletoon back then. Regardless, it was a vastly underrated show (although compared to the original comics, it was pretty tame).
