private army malfunction

not really a malfunction, but i noticed someone elsewhere said that private army picks from a list of backups.
i'm playing  :ff:, and my private army only picks the first on the custom list, multiple times.  i'm guessing the multiple is for 3.3 for  :ffvstr:.  is there a way for me to update the code so it works for  :ff: the same way?
