Holy handbag!  I moved some parts (weapons and accessories) from one mesh to another, using Style's tutorial (THANK YOU, STYLE!!!!).  The first few times I tried it, the parts ended up near the mesh's feet (I'm thinking the meshes were just incompatible)...But I finally got this move to work with different meshes.

I'm so amazed that I did this...I'm usually inept at this sort of technical stuff.

Whooo-Hoooo!

Thanks DJ...Does anyone know why mesh parts would end up at a mesh's feet (after moving said parts from another mesh)?  I was just wondering if it's something that could be fixed, worked around, etc...

Best.

Well different mesh parts/pieces are attached to different nodes on its mesh. If you find the same node on the new mesh you're skoping with and paste the mesh part/piece to that node it connects properly. example: If you got a helmet from one mesh you wouldn't want to attach it to the hand node on the new mesh if it was attached to the head node on the original mesh. You would like the original, paste it to the head node on your new mesh being skoped. Now there are exceptions that is if you want that said helmet attached to another place but be warned it might not go where you expect it!

I'm having a similar problem to Commander K; pieces end up at their feet (alright when I was trying to put Hawkman's beak on Male Suit v2 so I could do Dr. Goldfoot), below the ground, upside down on their shoulders, the equavalent of 25' away and 6' off the ground... it makes moving them a pain. This happens when I try to attach things to the head, arm, or spine. When I put the beret on Captain America for the Super Green Beret 2 I did, it popped up almost exactly in place, I just needed to move it up a little.

Ah! Hawkmans beak huh? ^_^ That must mean its a piece from one of Tommyboys meshes the King of Pieces/Parts for meshes! Now with most of his pieces you might have to paste it straight to the Scene Root! And again as a little warning and as Tommy once said himself: his meshes are not very skope friendly. :P

Oh! And Cmdrkoenig67 you are much welcomed Bro! ;)

So it's just a matter of finding the right node to paste certain objects to, huh?  I'll keep that in mind next time when parts end up on (or in) the floor...LOL!

Thank you so much, guys.

For it NOT to end up on the floor, one of two things needs to be the case:
1. The keyframes must animate a node of that name. (This keeps them positioned).
2. You graft to a bone, which will also support the mesh off the ground. (Watch your NiSkinInstance and maybe NiSkinPartition if doing it this way. Check my tutorial on grafting extra horns to heads).
I seem to be exporting 10.1.0.0 Nifs out of Blender a lot these days!
