Title: EZNifConvert and .NET
Post by: Merchant on April 17, 2010, 09:25:07 PM
Recently I try to install EZNifConvert into Vista but I get this message,
"This setup requires the .NET framework version 1.1.4322. Please install the .NET framework and run again. The .NET framework can be installed from the web. Would you like to do this now?"
In Vista, it shows I have .NET framework 3.5 SP1.
Wouldn't the latest .NET take precedence or should I just try the NPI Conversion Pack?

EDIT: Rather than putting in a new post, I'll just note here for now thanks, I'll post when I get the time to try it again.

This happened to me also. I also had up to 3.5 SP1 installed and got the same message. It seems to be an issue with .NET (at least it's frequent enough to have hundreds of postings when I Googled it). I believe you have to uninstall, then reinstall it. I don't believe just a reinstall works. It won't mess with your current installations of anything later than version 1. Please double check on Google with the error message, "This setup requires the .NET framework version 1.1.4322," as your criteria. Also, make sure you specify that you are running Vista (I have XP). I just don't want to steer you wrong.

You can have more than one .NET version installed. EZConverter uses a specific version. Once you download and install it, it'll work. No problems should arise from having dual installations.
