Title: Big Update
Post by: grenadier on April 20, 2010, 06:33:24 PM
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Grenadiermeshes15/ (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Grenadiermeshes15/)

I'm still at the relearning phase.  Here's what I made so far,

Diamond Lil = Laughing Paradox made a great  skin of her so I built a mesh for her.

Flashback = Laughing Paradox made a great skope, but I wanted my own animations, so I ended up building a mesh.

Smart Alec = I thought the character was pretty interesting so I made a new mesh for him.  I always wondered if he was so smart why didn't he have a force field, so I made him one.  Once again LP skin ideas were raided to fire up my creative juices.  Although the skin can use a upgrade after I was done with it.

Yes I'm building up my Omega Flight - I'm working on Wildchild currently using LP's skin base, comics, and Vertexes' male basic with hands and mouth.

Razor Fist = Practicing with Physique,  Hands are hexable.

They're available in the abouve link.

Friggin' awesome!

The Diamond Lil mesh is dynamite. I love the hair and the keyframes.. it's just, wow. I love Flashback and Smart Alec, too. That shield fx looks pretty cool! It reminds me of a red spray of kirby dots.

I'm looking forward to your Wild Child mesh and everything else that you've got down the line.

I'm curious if you've considered making a mesh for Box and Heather Hudson as Vindicator (Mac's costume).

Razorfist is a really pleasant surprise, too. Great stuff.. it certainly seems like you haven't lost your touch from your past meshing skills.

Box ..  Hmm.... Here's a preview.

It's not ready,  I'm trying to come up with something that will make him different.
So far I'm using  a modified male hulking mesh with the face meshed and scaled particles for jets when flying and hovering.

Hey Ren,

Nice to hear from you bro.

I know I haven't put up anything new in a week or two,  slowing down in my old age, but here's a preview of what's coming.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Grenadiermeshes15/photos/album/783390420/pic/284600637/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Grenadiermeshes15/photos/album/783390420/pic/284600637/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc)

He's a minor character but usesa  nunchaku.  I've been watching too much martial arts movies since starting up dialysis.    What can I tell ya it passes the time away.

The meshes that I haven't released should be available soon.  I'm getting new skins for them.  Laughing Paradox has been doing an excellent job cranking them out.  I have a few more meshes coming up and I hope to get a favorite skinner involved hoping he's out of his funk.

Any chance we'll seeing more martial arts type meshes? Other weapons?

Great job on the Shockwave mesh. Not real familiar with the character, but the fx turned out really well.

I've cranked out 5 version of iron-man and putting the final animations on the sixth.
I've finished versions, 3,7,10,12,and 14.  They all have fx and special animations based on the their versions.  My favorite is ver 12 silver centurion it's got your standard fx and a scaling aura which looks like it turns on and off a force field.

The one I'm working on  is the warmachine.  I'm doing the animations now.  It probably won't get released until a later date once I find someone willing to skin him.  All in all I got ten projects going at once.  I find bouncing from one to the other keeps me from getting bored of one.  So that's pretty much it for now.  Gotta go, dialysis is waiting.

:) :) :)

Yeah, that's how I skin. It keeps me from getting stuck. The moment I start to get artist block I move to another skin. The only problem is I have so many skins that are sitting at "almost done except for something tough to do" and they haunt me. I'm looking at you Holocaust.

Was just looking through the new meshes on the Champions site.

Really impressed with Box, and great skin by LP. This mesh might be good for a new Santo too.

The Chaka Khan nunchuck is too cool.

Really like all the details you put into all the Ironmans.

I Finally felt far enough ahead to take a break from skinning and skoping and the first thing I did was really check out the Iron-Men. All the little extras are great. The FX's are definitely cool but I really like the animated face mask. It just gives Iron-Man so much personality. I wish there was a idle stance with it open though.

I know you have some new things you want skinned but I was wondering about the Mandroid. If no one has claimed him I wouldn't mind giving him a shot.

And one other question. Since Court was cool with you moving his older skin around to work with the new meshes is he cool with you using his newer version? I ask because my anal self has already taken the toybox skins and moved them to your new ones and didn't know if you would want them for the mesh.

Very cool,

Mandroid is all yours for the skinning.  I may revisit the mesh and add on some more stuff but not in the near future.

As to Courts skins, I haven't had much luck getting in touch with him lately.  What I did was build some meshes around his skins.  I  don't know what his policy is on that so we'd have to contact him.

In the spirit of not KB'ing Courts work I would say the Iron man mkv 12 skin would be the only one that's ok since that one was just me resizing and moving of what he had done on the previous version. I have the 3 and 7 done but that had parts that I had to mix and match from his Iron Skins (and couple just by me) and I think would be a no-no unless Court Ok's it.

I'll send it your way if you want.

Updated to add -

I forgot to tell you that the Mkv 3 is missing the reflection on the boot cuff. It needs its effect to be set to 1.

With the Mandroid you mentioned you might want to change it and I'm curious about what. He has a visor but it's alpha'd out on your original standard and I was wondering if that was something that was to be changed. I haven't done the head yet because I wasn't sure. All the reference pics I've seen so far don't have the visor but I didn't want to start doing the head one way then find out other wise.

BTW Glad to hear your feeling better. I know from way back in the old days (when I was working for the DOC escorting offenders to the hospital for Dialysis) how long and boring it can be.

Beautiful work.

The changes I refer to deal with his hands and weapons.
Notice I gave the mesh a model number.  I'm planing on different variants based on the comics I read.  I'll probably make changes to their weaponry mainly, but as I said it won't be soon.

The Mk12 version you sent me was for Mk3.  The Mk12 was the silver centurion.
The version models I'm using are from this website:

*Hurm* Maybe I sent the same thing twice. I just resent the Mark 12 skin. I double checked this time.

And that secret mesh you sent me is amazing. All the animated parts are crazy. I mean his back would have been more than enough but then all the wrist weapons too? Above and beyond.

My one and only criticism is that he sets the bar way to high for future meshes.
Title: Re: Gren - Back in my stomping ground

Yeah I hear ya.

I does become a pain to live up to.
The good part about it is that I control my own bar.
So when I see something I like or interesting, I can go all out, or when I'm practicing, I'm pacing myself.  That's the only way I can deal with multiple issues and projects without being in a padded room.

Anyway, onto tthe ten projects I'm working on.  :) :) :)

Billcasanova found a quirk in the Thor v2 mesh. The problem is fixed and uploaded.
Please download the mesh again.

Normally, I would have posted more but I'm in the process of moving. Once we're settled,
we should have more.

You caught that huh?  :)  Actually I made his arms bigger because of weilding that big hammer around so much.  I made him a head larger than male basic as well. I didn't want to make him too bulky but I also didn't want to make him too thin when I made him larger.

It's not so much of the arms being bigger, I just noticed his wrist and hands were considerly longer than your other male_muscular meshes. Stylistic choice I suppose.

I made him as a man-bear.  If you want to adjust him, that's what skoping is all about.

I doubt Gren would agree it wasn't negative. And you didn't clarify, you simply took another jab at Gren. If you weren't trying to be negative and clarify you would have said something like: "Gren, I'm sorry that you took that from what I said. I didn't mean that at all. What I meant was..." Lets all just drop it Gren's back & as far as I can see no one is really flamming anyone else - It's more of a loss in translation situation - For Gren if you need some tips on how grappling works with FFX 3 then i'll be happy to help out via PM

QuoteI'm still studying what's involvled with the grappling manuevers.  Once I figure that out, I'll update that mesh.

You may want to check out Yellow Lantern's grapple animation. I've added them to all my appropriate meshes. Unfortunately, there is only a grapple animation for basic and hulking meshes. Both will work on male_heavy meshes, but as I'm sure you know, the basic anim squishes the mesh and hulking stretches it (only during the animation, of course). I'm sure someone skilled in creating keyframes could adjust the hulking animation to play nice with male_heavy, or as I assume is the case, you would rather make your own animations. I'd be happy to send the animations to you if you're interested.
Title: Re: Gren - Back in my stomping ground
Post by: TrajkLogik on June 18, 2010, 02:01:15 AM
I share your problem with the lack of male_heavy grapple animations. I've already requested of Gren that he begin to add grapple animations to meshes of characters that use it. He's barely had a chance to look at the stuff I've sent to him about it. But, I think we will soon see some cool things done. :)

Can I make a suggestion? If the guy is a bear, what about some kinda bear type claw slash animations? Like Texas Jack's Wolverine meshes? You know how bears swat stuff. Might give him a little more distinctiveness, and theyd be cool as hell.
Title: Re: Gren - Back in my stomping ground
Post by: herodad1 on June 19, 2010, 01:10:43 PM
inks sabretooth, rens killer croc, and i think tj's gorilla meshes all have good claw slash animations but seeing as how thorough he is with his animations to characters i bet his bear can already slash foes.

This time the Russians are coming.

Ursa Major, Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, and a new mesh for Vanguard.
Liked the skin so I made a mesh for it.  Course a redo is in order.

I also have a classic version of Darkstar coming.  I might release it sooner than two weeks.

Thanks everybody,

I rechecked the Vanguard Mesh.  Please re-download.  What was fixed?
Some quirky animations, some clipping, and also I added the max files fore the hammer and sickle weapons.  If any who has the ability to make FXes from this kindly do so.  It's been a while since I did it so I'm rusty.

QuoteIts hard to believe your back with the community, but its even harder to believe the work your putting out.

I'm doing this from a laptop, mostly one-handed no less( I don't like using two hands on a laptop), and still able to get my paperwork for Medicare going. For a while I was also doing this with one eye due to partial cataract.  It comes and goes but I figured a way to train the bad eye to focus better. That part was what I was impressed about.  Training, practice, attention to detail, and focus goes a long way. :) :) :)

Thanks dude, this time around I decided I won't hold back on what I can actually do.  By not limiting myself in terms of meshing or animation, I found the ideas just poping out a lot easier speeding up my creative process.  Mandarin only took a day to do and another to check and fix.  I always try to do a QC before release, but I'm human and make mistakes.  The firepower mesh is 80% done in meshing in only 5 hours, so I thought that was pretty good. Right now, I'm thinking what set to make for the next two weeks.  I'll get it once I start reading some comics.   :) :) :)

The new grappling and throwing animations are awesome. With the ability to now create more than just punch melee animations you really can let your imagination run free. I can't wait to see more.

Don't forget it is now possible to using flying melee so you can create animations for characters that use that. Giants can use it to hit flying characters and flying characters can hit giants or other flying characters.

Also, long ranged melee (like the Killarilla's Whip) can be used for charging attacks. The character should start at 0 and move forward to hit a target that is further away, out of melee range. Most current animations that are charging have the character jump backwards, away from the target, and then run back to hit them.

flying melee... hmm...I tried something like that a long time ago.  Anyone have examples of it now.
Speaking of grappling animations, mine doesn't do damage.  How do I cause someone I've grabbed crushing damage.  Also can this code be transfereed to FF as to only working in FFVTTR.

The previews of this new batch look really good. I'm really bummed out that I don't have my 'puter so I can play with these. I can't wait to try and re-enact the Armor Wars battles. But I'm really looking forward to seeing your Firepower mesh.

Question: Is there any chance that you might adapt your new Thor meshes to mesh a Beta Ray Bill or a Thunderstrike?

Again, thanks for all your hard work. It is definitely appreciated.

You and Courtnall make the best mesher/skinner team. Keep it up you two :)

Sure guys, PM me with email addys!

:EDIT:  Hey Gren, I've got a question about your Shredder mesh.  I'm getting a weird thing where his helmet doesn't seem to be quite solidly on his head.  It tends to bob a bit when he moves, and occasionally the top of his head pokes through.  I'm not sure if this is something peculiar on my machine, or if it is an issue with the mesh itself.  Anyone else have this experience?

Arsenal is really cool, Gren.  I'm going to move these kfs over to some of my other Male Heavy meshes, if compatible.  I love some of the new melee kfs you came up with.  The chest cannon pretty darn cool.

I checked on my machine in both character tools.  Now when I converted, I convert both mesh and keyframe.  I tried converting just the mesh once for the juggernaut and I got the same quirks you're talking about.  But just to be safe I uoload the shredder mesh again.

I start with the basic ideas and add on to bring out the characters.  Thanks and enjoy, because there is more to come.

I was just checking out Mauler in CTool.  His melee_4 animation is a perfect example of a flying melee.  That can be changed to a ranged attack (via Nifskope) and then in the game, the ranged attack is assigned that animation and given a short range.  Its not perfect, but works well enough.  It looks a lot better when the attack animation goes past the target and then loops back.  Now, if that could start from a hovering position, rather than an melee idle position, that would truly be a flying melee attack.
Title: Re: Gren - Back in my stomping ground
Post by: TrajkLogik on July 10, 2010, 11:56:09 PM
Didn't you make some flying melee animations on some of your other kfs - like the eternal kfs? Those are perfect. It can be a melee animation, or both ranged and melee. You can use it as a melee because you can get the AI to use it easily while in the air and you just need an attribute that gives a command to use the attack for hero files. As long as the character is close enough to another flying character they will stay in the air when using the air melee attack. So there are actually 2 ways to simulate flying melee - by skoping a melee animation to a ranged, or using a melee air power at close range.

As for the issue you mentioned with the grappling: No damage bubbles will appear during the grapple, so you need to monitor the target's health bar to see the damage inflicted. If this doesn't solve it, then head on over to the thread Xenolith started in the Scripting forum and see if any of the posts there can help you out.

Xenolith: I checked the kf's for Arsenal and they are not male_heavy, but rather male_hulking_brute.

Title: Re: Gren - Back in my stomping ground

I'm not remaking Arsenal to male heavy I made him male hulking because the shape and size were appropriate.  There were other meshes I'm not remaking because of other reasons, but the keyframes can be transfered to a male heavy eventually when I find an appropriate mesh.

Hey Gren, the Shredder thing stopped when I took off shadows and such, so it may have something to do with the ghosting mesh problem.  I'll try that fix on it later, and I imagine it will probably take care of the issue.  I've been putting him through his paces while designing the character, and I've just got to say, amazing work man!

Thanks everyone for your support.  What's happened so far is that I developed a blood clot in my leg due to lupus.  It went into my chest causing it hard for me to breath.  They put a breathing tube in me and wacked me on morphine.  Once I got my bearings, I realized I was tied from hands to feet, and the breathing tube was choking me.  Needless to say I pulled out that nonsense.  However, my blood presssure was 190 over 130.   So the doctors tried to figure out why.  The lupus was still in my system so they enhanced my medications and it's back down to a normal 130 over 80.
In the process my right eye vision has to be retrainined again to see properly due to a burst vessel.  I've done it before so no worries.   They still want to do some more tests but I'm a lot better that I was a week ago.  Really no bull.    In the meantime  I did managed to update the site.  If you see a problem just let me know or skope it.   Untill I get my right eye re trained, things don't look quite right so bear with me.

Thanks everyone.

Just letting everyone know, I'm fine. I got vascular surgery tomorrow to attach a vein to a main artery for dialysis. In the mean time, I upgraded my max from 4.2 to 5.1 and loaded the character tool for 4.2.  Works fine.  So now I can take advantage of the mesh Johnny Patches sent me earlier.
Course I'm going to tweak it up when necessary, but nevertheless, it's a well done mesh and it'll make people who want fingers happier.   Meshes will start rolling out once my vision clears up a bit more.  They're slightly dialated so everything is a bit fuzzy.  Until it clears up we can't do any meshing, but we are doing some prep work no matter how frustrating it is right now.

:) :) :)

Hey Everybody,  my vision is slowly starting to clear.  I've been doing some basic prep work for some stuff to release when my vision gets better.  I like the hands Johnny Patches made so I'm incorporating it in some new meshes.  During which, I did a size comparison of meshes I've utilized.  I think  I'm missing a size between sentinel and giant man.  I'm thinking of making frost giants around that size.  Opinions and ideas?

On another subject,  the female mesh shape we all utilize needs an upgrade, anyone got a good picture of wonder woman or she hulk where they are just standing straight?

If you look back at the history of Hank Pym's heroic identities, he has been just about every size you can imagine. Around the end of his run in Tales to Astonish, I believe he was hitting 100-120 feet. What are the limits to Collasal Boy's powers? How tall is It-The Living Monolith?

How tall is a Sentinel these days? Seems like they used to be about 60'.

I echo BG's sentiment. I'm glad you're doing well.

Regarding the size differences, I think the Frost Giant will be a great size between your Sentinel and Giant-Man. I also look forward to your new female_basic mesh.

QuoteI can not physique objects in maya so it is beyond me.

I hear ya, Maya is like playing with clay when you want use a chisel to chip away blocks and pieces.  I prefer to use 3dmax 4.2 because of it's simplicity.  I found 3dmax 5.1 dope sheet too annoying to be effectively doing any animation or transfering any animation from it. Hence I went back to 4.2 for the main bulk of my meshing, but I still use 5.1 to convert newer meshes.
However, my favorite modeling tool used to be Lightwave. I could either model the the meshes like clay or be precise like max.  Animation wise, I like to use max because I've gotten used to it over the years, but maya has just as good set of tools as well.

Thanks John,  The Wonder Woman Pic is what I'm looking for.  The plan is to reshape a mesh to look just like that and have movements that look natural to the mesh .  Everyone has been used to skinning our current meshes. I don't believe in remaking the wheel other than to test my own skiills and I have my own personal project for that.

I love maya interface and modeling features my main problem is the nif exporter. It would be a super day if they ever update that thing. Yeah I realy wish though I had learned max instead. The interface in max just kills me. I get lost so easy.

Yeah, they never really worked that exporter to the point where it worked like max.  I would've used Maya more often then.

Anyway The picture above is the difference in shape between what a woman should be shaped as opposed as to what is shaped.  The current female mesh we all use to date has a chest area that is too big and a neck too short.  Looking at the comparison, the mesh was shaped from a male and parts were added to make it more female.  Well,  we're going to try to make it look better.  That's the main reason I don't like making female meshes.

This might be a bit presumptuous of me, but you might have an easier time starting with my female basic tm max... it's not exactly perfect, but it's loads better then the ones irrational made up (probably because it's based on Eve instead of a basic mesh).
Title: Re: Gren - Doing some Prep Work
Post by: grenadier on August 29, 2010, 08:49:58 AM
I've already tried  Eve, female versatile, and female basic.  Each one has an element I don't like.  So what I've done is take parts that I like to form the base.  What I have is close to the shape I want so I'm hoping to not make too many drastic alterations.

No, not eve specifically... I released the max to female_basic_tm (up on my npi page), which was my attempt at making a superior female base mesh. It has a lot of modifications already, such as a remapped chest and replaceable heel/noheel feet.

It's still not up to your level, but IMO it's far better than irrational's meshes. Either way though, I'm excited to see what you come up with.

I did a comparison of your mesh to the model I'll be working with.  The vertices for the legs haven't been welded.  I understand that it allows for heels.   The neck and shoulder still needs some adjusting.  The proportions on the the legs needs to be matched to the model.  The torso looks good but still needs to be smaller.

However I do like some elements you have and with your permission I want to use the torso and arms for the project I'm attempting.

I don't mind at all... the reason I released the max in the first place was so it would be used, after all.

According to the All New Iron Manual Handbook (where I got the picture from) it's the same as the standard Guardsmen armor (flight, combat computers, exoskeleton strength enhancement, life support) but had much heavier reinforced armor and the standard palm repulsors were replaced with heavy caliber energy rifles that fully replaced each forearm. They were first used to guard The Vault in the Negative Zone and most often seen standing guard near Initiative jump gates after the Civil War (and I swore they had actual combat during Secret Invasion when Skrulls were attacking the Initative bases) and recently were seen in the background of Thunderbolts current prison base. I'll see if I can get you exact issues they appeared in but that should give you a good start.

Darn it, I just looked into the Electra Mesh.  I have 9 versions of it.  I complied version 8 and deleted 9.  In adversity you can find some new ways to do things.  I found some new keyframe tricks that allowed  me to redo version 9 sai animations.  Anyway, it seems fixed  , any quirks that anyone finds.  Let me know.  Thanks Billcasanova.

Nope, all it needs is someone to skope it and put the right skin.  I set it up so it can be skoped for reasons like that.  I am prepping for a version 2 of war machine.  As to it's release unknown for now. I'm a little ironed out so I might be switching to Asgardian mode for a bit.

I agree. Over at the TWC, we have massive respect for modlers and animators. Trust me, I know how much work goes into each and every model, and I deeply appreciate all of the work all of the modders, both big and small, are so gracious to release to those incapable of doing those type of things themselves. Keep up the great work everybody!

What's released:  Grim Hogun new and classic version with new animations.
Ogre for use as canon fodder
Added lightning FX to my Thor's when spinning hammer.

I'm new around here Grenadier but I've enjoyed your meshes from way back. Anytime I see your name in a new
thread, I know it usually means cool new toys to play with. Thanks for these and the Ogre really is appreciated. Good
to have more generic baddies for our heroes to smack down

I love the new form and animations on the new meshes for Grim Hogun. The animations are clearly more fluid now compared to your earlier version. I think you've really come a long way in meshing and i think it shows in your work. :)

Pretty cool lightning effects on Thor too.

We're slowly getting there.  I know what mesh you want.  :) :) :)

All in all,  thanks everyone.
I've  been reading some of my old  thor comics and playing what I have on FF1.  I got a few Thor based characters that I'm planning on doing and/or remaking.

I also finally remembered something about particles that I was trying to remember all this time.  Gravity and Deflectors work when compiling to FF1.
Wind and Vortexes don't seem to work or I haven't figured it out yet.  It May not mean anything to anyone but it was bugging me for the longest.

I've been re-reading a lot of the Walter Simonson issues.  I like his work and the story telling.  It's motivated me enough to  crank out some meshes.  So far I've gotten Ymir, 2 Ice giants, and a Frost Giant already made.  I just got to send it out for QC. It should be out by next Friday.

Kurse, Bet Ray Bill, Fafnir, and some Storm Giants are under development.  I just have to finish up on a modern version of Baldur.  Mocaption files are becoming a pain.  There's a bit of glitchiness during exporting that you don't see in the animating. So I'm having to either redo it from scratch or settle for its quirks which I don't like, but we'll figure it out eventually.

Will I do Surtur?
I need to look at the existing one and see what I can add to make it better and if I feel I have enough ideas that will make it different enough I'll crank one out.

I loved Simonson's Thor comics.  I grew up in a small town and couldn't find half of his run because other kids beat me to the spinner rack.  I remember reading the first issue and being blown away.  I distinctly remember buying the issue where the Executioner dies from a comic shop in the big city.  :)  Good memories.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and Black Friday Shopping.

Late Release: Check out what's new.   Giants, Giants, and More Giants, Tyr, Modern and Classic Balder, and Beta Ray Bill with his own hammer fx.

Why late? Let's see... I picked up pnuemonia from the clinic which poisoned my blood during dialysis.  I spent 3 nights at the hospital next door on antibiotics to get better.  They had no free wireless connection which sucked.  The good part about the situation is I picked up 6lbs of good eating thanksgiving food.  See ya in two weeks.  :) :) :)

Darn FTP agent.  Okay Classic Balder has been reuploaded.  It should be fine now.  I'm glad everyone likes them.  I was very inspired at the time.

I'm deliberating as to how I'm going to do Valkyrie with her spear and sword.  Fafnir is not in the  in the shape I want him to be and neither is Surtur.  Thor Girl is coming along fine, just got to do her hair and hammer.  Kurse, I'm still studying.  As to what mode I'll be next, not sure, I'll know when I start it.

I'm feeling better right now, I just got be careful where I go since my immune system is so low due to my bad kidneys.  However I did have a good thanksgiving gaining 6lbs of eating. :) :) :)

okay, reloaded adam strange with TUE's skin.  Iron monger mesh is done I just have to animate it which I'm not focused on doing at this time.  My plan is to release a mesh this coming week before I enjoy the holidays and get back to meshing around January.  Family time is priority one with me. :) :) :)

Great to see that some people still keep this comunity alive after all this years. Great work. I especialy love your Iron Man Collection. I think the flying particles arent working though, there are Particles but they look nothing like they shot, more like tons of tiny white boxes. Anyway to fix this ?

Kep up the work!  I logged into the forum after a  few years now, its people like you and c6 that make the comunity what it is !

Red Norvell........damn, I have to download this cuz the look is so cool. Ive never actually read any Thor comics with him in them, but I like the old school viking look.

I gotta start reading the Simonson Thor run here one day.

Not sure if this is artifact from the EZNif conversion process but Swordsman appears to have some inverted triangles on the superior aspect of his shoulder pads/pouldrons.

Other than that he looks great. I esp[ecially like the over-the-shoulder stab.

Does the Cosmic Cube NOT show up on the Red Skull mesh for anyone else after using EZNifConvert? I also have the same issue with the fx and shield on the Dr Strange mesh.

The problem in both the Red Skull and Dr Strange is that the alpha capabilities of FFVTR is not making them appear as they should in the character tool.  A simple fix is to re-save the fx, shield, and cube.tga file as 16-bit images removing the alpha layer from the image.

I looked into the swordsman and put a fixed version in one of the las t yahoo groups.  I think groups 14, 15, or 16.
Here's a link to my list of groups.

Gren! You skinned Tiberius, yeah? That came out so well. I love the Inhumans.. Gorgon is awesome.  Ares is great, too. The love you put in the Absorbing Man meshes is evident. I love how they came out.

I have a question.. not a request!.. I was wondering if you were contemplating Medusa? She seems to be the only major Inhuman left.

QuoteI have a question.. not a request!.. I was wondering if you were contemplating Medusa? She seems to be the only major Inhuman left.

Yep, I have her mostly made.  Her hair is a pain.  I'm trying different ways of animating it and it's not making me happy.  Worse case scenario, I may have to keyframe it manually.  I would have released her by now if not for that.

I skinned a few others too.  Some good some not so good, but we're working on it.

Hah! Thanks everyone.  Hey AA,  I was impressed with your skoped Ares and skin, so I had to think hard as to how to make him more bada$$.  I thought a minigun would do the trick.

As a sidenote - being my own worst critic, I wasn't happy with my first she-hulk.  So I remapped her and fixed some of her animations.  She's okay for now, so I uploaded her.

Boy, do I know how you feel, as tedious as it is making them, it's fun playing them.
I still plan on redoing the silver samurai, along with standard armored samurais. I have been studying  how their armor is setup and it's pretty interesting enough for me to want to try and make low poly version of them for the game.

I'm just happy your interests track my own!  It makes your releases that much more enjoyable.  I like looking at what everyone on FR does, but I get a special thrill when you or another creator pops out an obscure character like Arsenal.  The Eternals and Deviants are some of my favorite characters because I'm a huge Kirby fan, so of course I'm thrilled to see them.

Thanks again, Gren!

Haha, most powerful mind on the planet, yeah!  Gren, like most humanoids, is descended from sea-life.

Seriously though, Gren, you are amazing.  First, he's generous enough to create that AMAZING Maximus mesh, then I just asked this guy a question about one of his meshes, and BAM, brand new version shows up in my inbox.  I think I've chosen the right time to be working on my Marvel mod, as Gren is just creating an unbelievable amount of amazing stuff.  I'm constantly having to go back and change things out because Gren has created new versions of his already fantastic meshes or specific meshes for characters that have never had them.  It's just awesome!  This new set is fantastic.  I'm going to have to find some way to bring the Greek and Egyptian gods into my stories...ahh, too many great toys to play with.

This latest batch of awesome has also given me some new Inhumans that I haven't come across before, and just like Hoss, I can't resist trying them out.  I'm thinking that Gren's just expanded the scope of my Inhumans related FF missions...Y'all don't know how many times in my modding career I've wanted to tell a specific story or use a specific character, but had to do something different because the art assets just weren't there.  Now, all of a sudden all of these obscure Marvel characters that I wanted to use have their own meshes and skins.  It's so cool!  I STILL can't believe I've got a dedicated mesh for Korath the Pursuer.  Who'd have ever thought that'd happen?

Also, I feel you too TUE, I think my favorite part of modding is building the characters.  I could just goof around in the RR for days, but sadly the missions just won't write themselves.... :D

:EDIT: Ohhh my goodness....I just downloaded you new Swordsman, and I cannot BELIEVE how amazing his animations are!  They are beyond fantastic!

now that i'm looking forward too. its not the modding i mean honestly i have no idea how to create guys in game, its the character choice. my to do skin list just gets bigger, guys i had an interest in but never thought i would do jump up the list, shoving re-dos like hordak down again

keep it up gren, guys like you and tomato keep me working lol

Fantastic work on the latest batch Grenadier!!!
Wendigo is just perfect, his power animation is astounding, i can't wait to have some battles with wolverine and hulk now.
The modeling on arcanna's jackets is so great too, her sleeves look amazing.
The only issue i have is with Pluto. for some reason i think his right thumb is connected to his hip. it kind of stretches out during animations. Regardless though, you did a great job skinning him,  his face is fantastic.

It's odd that it doesn't show in max, but nevertheless, I re-physiqued the hands and tested it for conversion.

QuoteHey, quick question: What does the AS before the Wendigo mesh stand for?

It stands for Alpha Strike, I was reading up on Alpha Flight and the villainous team they were against was called Alpha Strike.
They consist of The Master of the World (Playtesting now), Vindicater II(done), Wendigo(done), Ranark the Ravager, Purple Woman, and Citadel.

I've missed so much during these couple of years...

Nice to see you meshing on a regular basis, Gren. I don't know if I've ever said this, but here it goes: I've always admired your versatility and how unique each one of your meshes could get. With specific keyframes to match. You've contributed tremendously to this community, and I'm grateful for that.

I don't want to digress, so I'll limit my praises to your latest batch (even though there is so much stuff at Champions of Freedom I don't even know where to begin). I particularly like the Kree stuff.
