I had some questions about FFX3 though that i'm not sure about:
1) Is FFX M25 Skirmish Watch Mode the "only" watch mode in FFX3? I just want to make sure.
2) Also what is that FFX Tool M25 AI Generator? i did read about here: http://ffx.freedomforceforever.com/manual.htm
But am i supposed to do something with the FFX Tool M25 AI Generator if i just want to "watch" fights in watch mode? I noticed when i downloaded some hero recipes they included a m25AI file? What is that exactly and how do you generate it?
3) Also i noticed some of my characters behave really oddly, but not all of them. Like my Captain America...like he will pause then attack and then stand still then pause then attack like there is a really bad delay. And other characters sometimes just stand there, then will attack after a few seconds and then stand there again for a few seconds. And then there are some characters who just wander around aimlessly. And some don't seem to use their attack powers at all. Am i supposed to do something? Why does the AI behave that way?
Thanks
The answer to #3 is in the answer to #2. :)
If you don't have a specific AI for a character, it'll default to a totally random (and usually highly ineffective) GenericHero AI. So, if you want, say, Cap to act the way he should and toss his shield and all that, you can either (a) use a built-in AI that someone else (read: M25 or USAgent) has been kind enough to create (that's the M25 AI file attached to the hero files you were asking about), or (b) use the M25 AI generator mode you were asking about in FFX3 (which will create an AI that uses the powers/attributes you assigned the hero in ways that are actually useful and authentic).
To use the M25 AI generator mode, make sure you run the FFX3 Control Center before booting up the game (get used to doing this EVERY time; you need to do this so that all of your characters are properly "branded" with the FFX3 attributes/powers you assign them). Then pick the characters you need an AI for, and simply pick them (as heroes and/or villains, doesn't matter which) for the M25 AI Generator mode. Once whatever map you pick for that mode boots up, then just sit back and relax. Don't try to select/move/do anything to your characters; just wait a few seconds. A note should appear onscreen saying something like "AI generated for _______ ; have fun with them" and then it'll go back to the menu. Voila! When you use that character in Watch mode now, he *should* be acting the way you intended.
Hi thx for response...
1) Still have a some questions though...When you say "run the FFX 3.0 Control center" you mean just start it up and close it? and then launch FFX3? Or do i have to specifically do something in the control center? Do i need to leave it open like minimized to the taskbar or something while i play?
1a) In FFX 3.0 Control Center there is a checkbox that says "Disable player AI" and it's checked by default, should i leave it that way? What is that?
2) When generating AI for characters using the FFX Tool M25 AI Generator can i choose as many as i want? Or is their a limit to how many i should choose? I have a lot i need to do...like 100's.
3) Do the characters actually move around while generating the AI? Or do they just stand there?
4) Will i see one of those m25AI file in my heroes folder afterward? Is that where game will store them if it was successful?
5) Do i need to do that for every character for every map?
Thanks so much this was really bothering me....
1) Just start up (double-click) FFX Control Center. You don't have to do anything else. Then just minimize it.
1A) As far as I know, leave it checked. I've never tried to run it unchecked.
2) The M25 AI generator is limited only by the number of characters you can put on a Rumble Room map. Technically, that's 28....pick 4 as "heroes," and up to 24 "villains."
Keep in mind that the AI Generator is *not* the same thing as a character creator....you'll still have to individually create your characters first (i.e., assign stats, attributes, powers) before you take them into the AI Gen room. All the AI Generator does is takes the character *you* created and makes the computer AI actually utilize those powers/attributes you assigned the way you intended.
3) The characters don't move during AI Gen. Don't try to make them. Only takes a few seconds to finish, anyway. :)
4) Yep. After you're done in the AI Gen room, you can check your Heroes folder (this is a hidden folder, btw --- you'll have to go into your computer's Folder Options and set it to "View Hidden" in order to find this folder) and you'll find an M25 AI file right below your character's hero file. Technically, you can even go into that file and fine-tune the AI even further, but this requires a LOT more scripting which I won't go into. If you want to get that advanced, you'll have to check out M25's tutorials.
5) Just one time. All you're doing is creating a working AI for your character that acts halfway intelligently, instead of like an idiot (which GenericHero default AI pretty much amounts to). Once you create the AI, it'll be good for that character permanently, for any Rumble Room map. The only way it will change is if you alter the hero (change attributes/powers etc); then you'll obviously have to go back to the AI Gen mode afterward to let it catch up with any changes you've made.

You do have to hit the "save" button after you open it up which "brands" the hero files in order for the generator to work, but that is all you need to do and you don't have to leave it open. You can close it out after you save it and then run FFX3
You don't "have" to hit save unless you make changes to attributes or power swaps. Opening the FFX control centre then closing it is the least you have to do to have the characters branded.
